Akash Chopra said in his video that he doesn't have any niggle and will most probably play in the first game vs Pakistan. Chopra is quite close to KL Rahul from what I have seen.

Looks like Agarkar found a way to carry Sanju as backup and give a lollypop to Sanju's PR team.

I knew it, but to put Ishan Kishen in middle order will ruin him.He is not cut out for middle order.

For last couple of years KL has been playing IPLs and WCs only. Seems like he is undroppable.

When he was not batting at the top they accommodated him in the middle and to make him undroppable they made him keep the wkts too.

First match is vs Pak so the peerless KL gets to dodge the Pak bowlers.

Where will Kishen bat, IMO only one between Kishen and Rahul should play. Both of them ruin whole balance.

12  more days to go. So they know he can't recover even in 2 weeks. This seems like some cunning plan. There is a chance he could fail against pakistan and people will cry for his exclusion. In order to avoid that he is going to miss the first match

On the thread 'Indian Squad for Asia cup', I had posted yesterday that KL and Iyer won't get any game although they hv been included in the 17.  Now we hv started getting official hints on KL being unfit already.  Same/Similar thing will be told about Iyer in next 4-5 days. Wait & Watch.   It was apparent right from the begining that TM was not in favour of including players having zero intl exposure in last 5 months (rightly so), as they would probably hv to face heavy backlash/criticism later on. We already saw how Kela fared in last Asia Cup and the subsequent WC. This brags the question. Why include such players in the first place?  Agarkar should clarify on what he means by "KL will miss first few matches of Asia Cup".   Is he not aware that every game in the 2nd phase of the Asia Cup is a virtual KO?   Does he really believe that TM can afford to risk including such players out of no where in a KO game?

It always looks like the team management left the middle order uncertain so that Rahul can directly play in the Asia cup.

 

Why both Kishan and Samson were not  given enough chances in the middle order .

 

Why Kisan was made to open against Windies.As selection was due for Asia cup and Rahul was  injured ,why wss he not made to play at no  5 position .

KL Rahul should only be in the lineup if he bats at 5 AND keeps.  Adds no value otherwise.

Then Kishan will play. Another left hander in the lineup is great to have.  But will Kohli and Rohit allow him to bat in the top 3?

That is the problem. When you talk about flexibility in the batting lineup, it's the seniors who should compromise and show flexibility. 

 

Not youngsters who are yet to establish themselves.
