Could the upcoming WC mark the rise of Shubman Gill as the next superstar player?

What do you think his run count will look like? Do you reckon he's the one who can bail out India when things get tough and play that vital part in bringing home the World Cup? Would love to hear your thoughts and predictions!

He has got too many technical flaws at the moment. Virat Kohli at similar age during 2011 WC was a much more compact player. Gill, even though more hyped, has not shown much against quality bowling. In world cup he will face the likes of Starc, Cummins, Woakes, Boult, Shaheen, Naseem etc. I hope he delivers for India's sake but it won't be easy.

Mehidy hasan must be getting ready for another 100.

Liton nearly knocked us out in WT20 2022...  His assault shocked us so bad that we had almost given up.

It was divine intervention that rain delay came at the right time... And we got him out just at the resumption.

That guy just comes out firing at the sight of India.

Kohli dropped him at least 3 times during that Dhaka Test where he nearly pulled a Chandimal Galle 2.0.  No one can forget Asia Cup Final knock too.

More than Mehidy he is danger man for us.

Will be back for WC...  I don't think BD is making Super 4's without him though.

Even if SL is missing Hasranga Kumara & Chameera.

Gill is the next gen superstar in the same league as Kohli. We have one such player every generation

1st gen - Gavaskar

2nd gen - Sachin

3rd gen - Kohli

4th gen - Gill

He needs to be aggressive and look to bat as aggressively as possible. Look to open his stance from ball 1 and hit incoming deliveries than try to be too defensive with a static stance.   The we he played Afridi was great to watch because Naseem was unplayable at the other end.

Yes, he will get out quite a bit as well but every batsman will. India's lack of batting depth should not be held against him. Someoene with his level of hand-eye should always look to take the game on and put bowlers under pressure.

This has been a great test of patience and skill in playing high quality spin .

All in previous matches esp. Test matches in turning pitches he never fought out and survived to play a longer innings .

So one more area getting sorted towards becoming a complete player.

Next level is to master late cuts , playing late in 3rd man to point area to get more singles  against  Left hand spinners/RH leggies when ball is turning.

Should have kept patience little more , took more risks than required when got out.

He was extremely exhausted after 70s.

Should watch how Kohli used to push balls into gaps and runs 2s to keep the RRR upto 7-8 in check without any risks.

But good outing nonetheless. Will give him a lot of confidence in handling spin.
