There the team was weaker though. Non-existent middle order plus NZ had blown us away in the warm ups as well plus never played them in group stage.

 

And  even from 5/3 we made a game of it.

 

This time our victories against Pak, Aus and NZ were well-earned and we had to work for it. There were certain tense moments.

Sport is about having as many options as possible so on a given day, some work and you win.

 

What we need to do now is

1.  Jadeja getting some batting time maybe up the order

2. Pandya getting batting time maybe up the order

3. Setting a target

4. Chase a big target

 

We should have qualified by the time the SA match rolls around. Would love to chase against them with Pandya in place of surya as a final warm-up. We will see if we can restrict them with 5 main bowlers + Pandya. Then see if we can chase it.

Also Gill and Iyer need to make some runs. They have gotten out on attacking shots only so batting first and building an innings would do good.

Bumrah & Shami are the two guys who made Indian pace attack fearsome and the best in the world over the course of last 6-7 years in both tests and onedays. Out of everyone in this team, they deserve to win this World Cup trophy the most.

If Indian fielding steps up on crucial days we will be even more solid.  Also so far despite having one of the weakest tail we managed to bat till 50th over compared to sides with deeper batting line up yet couldn't bat whole 50 overs

India have so far achieved the same as Australia and SA, qualification for finals.
