Serpico
How many of them can do it on the big stage? England: Buttler - 3rd WC. Career sr 117; WC sr 126 Livingston - 1st WC. Career sr 116 Brook - 1st WC. JB has the most experience and is the captain as well this time. It'll be interesting to see how explosive he'll be with the added responsibility Australia: Maxwell - 3rd WC. Career sr 124; WC sr 169 Marsh - 2nd WC. Career sr 94 (125 as opener) Marsh has barely played in 2015, looks like a different player since he's being used as a pinch hitter in LOIs. Maxwell has been doing tho forever and another opportunity for him to give us the big show. Newzealand: Bracewell: 1st WC. Career sr 118 Chapman: 1st WC. Career sr 107 Phillips: 1st WC. Career sr 90 Most inexperienced bunch of hitters among the big teams. However none of them are young, so this is a case of hungry veterans finally getting an opportunity to shine in the big boys club. Exciting prospect for NZ fans South Africa: Klassen: 1st WC. Career sr 111 Miller: 3rd WC. Career sr 103. WC sr 117 Jensen: 1st WC. Career sr 116 Some scary names, two of them playing their first world cup. Can Jensen fill the shoes of legendary Klusener? Can Miller use his experience to get rid of the choker tag? India: SKY: 1st WC. Career sr 105 Pandya: 2nd WC. Career sr 110. WC sr 112 Iyer: 1st WC. Career sr 97 Kishan: 1st WC. Career sr 102 One big disadvantage is only one among sky/iyer/kishan will be in final xi. So big task for Rohit's Gut in the next 45 days. Iyer is the spinner killer with 'clutch' cred, kishan is the lefty and sky is the.. mr. 360 for some and mr.0 for others. Unfortunately none of them can bowl so they must compete with each other. May the best man win Pakistan: Iftikhar: 1st WC. Career sr 104 Who else? Salman? Shakeel?? Pakistan has the weakest power hitting this time. Long way from the boom boom era. Can chacha do it for the boys? Edited October 2, 2023 by Serpico Link to comment
vvvslaxman
SKY is not a big hitter technically. Just a smart hitter who uses angles albeit with so much risk. Almost every Indians are capable of Big hits. Gill, Rohit, Kohli, Rahul. Just that they have to switch to different gear to do that. Link to comment

May the best man win This is why I believe India's best XI for WC includes both Iyer and SKY, with Jadeja being benched in favor of Ashwin as 2nd spinner. Pandya can be asked to bowl full 10 - not for entire tournament, but for a couple of crucial games. ipl is fun, Nikhil_cric and nevada 1 2 Link to comment

Almost every modern odi batsman is capable of going big after getting settled. However the above mentioned players have the reputation of being super fast even by modern standards Link to comment

vvvslaxman
Iftikar is the only one guy who looks like hitting six from Pakistan. Rest are weak guys who often struggles tto clear boundaries Link to comment

Nikhil_cric
Iftikhar struggles against wrist spin mostly. Apart from that, Rizwan is their best death hitter and he's not all that. Link to comment

Markram will start slow..but is a powerful hitter India...Gill May not be a "power hitter", but packs a punch and can score at a berserk strike rate Pakistan...Fakhar is their motor engine for 300+ scores. It's malfunctioning now is a different problem SL..Dasun Shanaka ?? Kushal Perera should have been their powerhitter. Link to comment

He starts slow, hence people often ignore it. But once set he has power to clear any boundaries. Has good experience in India playing for SRH, was their crisis man last year (this year it was Klassen show all the way). Link to comment

If Pakistan loses 2 wickets in the Powerplay, they will be beaten almost every time by a top 6 side. Unless Saud is an exceptional batter, I don't see this changing. Link to comment
