How did ICC even approve this …  don’t think this will get fixed in time … again poor planning , fixtures and venues announced so late , grounds did not have time to prepare ..

Between 1987, 1996, 2011 , 2023 this has to be handsdown the worst organized world cup.  I heard India is travelling all over the country just to play few matches.

Clear case of corruption and mismanagement.  

 

Not enough that the HCA gets to host so many WC games - they can't even be bothered to keep the grounds safe for players?  

 

More importantly, where's the ICC review committee  - nobody did an inspection of this? 

 

This is unacceptable levels of incompetency.   And not for the first time with this WC - from facilities to schedules to tickets - utter shitshow.  Indian tourism industry has literally lost hundreds of millions of dollars because the BCCI could not be bothered with releasing the schedule until the last *ing second.  So many cricket fans would have come to attend in person if they had the chance to plan.

 

Where is the accountability?

Apparently ICC ground inspector did raise some concerns but was told it will all be okay till match starts.

 

Doubt they did follow up inspection.

For some reason, BCCI seems really interested in promoting this venue. I get the backdrop is stunning but you can see that the facilities are not world class, at least not good enough for World Cup games.

There's too much scrutiny now on the outfield. Wonder what sort of drastic emergency patchup work they can do on the outfield .

There is no incentive to work if you are getting loads of money without even trying. For a country like India seeped in rampant corruption there should be two boards running cricket in India to provide the necessary checks and balances.

Corruption was there in 1987, 96 and 2011 too. Some events are too big to effect by it and if not need to be called out.
