Chances of India Pakistan semi-final

Let's not worry of who we're going to face in semi's or finals.

 

Whoever comes, we have to play best. Playing Pakistan is going to be more of an advantage coz we have thrashed them twice under a month and their bowling is completely exposed right now.

 

I am more worried of facing NZ in semi's, Boult is a class bowler and unlike Pakistan's mediocre bowling attack who will disintegrate like glass after couple of boundaries, Boult and co has the ability to comeback and attack relentlessly.

 

RSA can also pose us a problem given the fact that their MO in Markram & Klassen are very good players of spin and can negate Kuldeep's impact. Here Bumrah & Siraj will have to put pressure with new ball, else it will be very difficult for Kuldeep to contain them...they have Miller in death as well and he knows very well though how to explode.

Kiwis and AFG were teams they had to beat and they lost to both.  The Aussies got smashed by the 2 teams that were extremely tough for them.  It's gonna get easier from here.  So there's that.

Agree. England seems to be behind. SL almost out. Afghanistan will win here and there but won't make it to the semis, Australia, Pakistan and Bangladesh for me will be fighting for 4th semi final slot with India NZ and RSA being 1-2-3, although England, Afghanistan, SL aren't totally out.

It's going to be some good inform side ,what else should one expect in a wc sf or final.

Given how dangerous a side they can become with form and confidence, it's better to avoid a side like Pakistan in the KO.

Kuldeep did bamboozle Markaram last year in ODI series in India but yes Klassen will be a different beast altogether.  He completely destroyed Zampa's confidence...  Bro isn't able to land his leg spinners at all now.  Last night flipper & googly saved him against a poor lower middle order of Lankans

Doesn't matter who we play. 

 

I don't see Pakistan picking themselves up after this defeat. They nearly shat themselves against Srilanka itself only for the idiotic Lankan bowlers and dew to save them. 

 

So they played 3 games , won against Netherlands and Srilanka which they were expected to do , lost heavily against India. And still have games against Bangladesh, Afghan, SENA to come. Congratulations to them if they do manage to get to the semifinals especially with England , Australia will be out for blood.

NZ just need a simple win. Pak need to beat Eng by ~100 runs if they have to topple NZ's NRR

Hoping that happens, but looking at NZ bowling today, I don't feel very positive

And England lost to SL batting first. Pak can get any amount of runs against Eng playing last

I would say that there is a good chance. Eng is worse than Ned, will be easily swept aside by Pak. As for NZ vs SL, if someone in lankans plays a blinder, it is possible to win (especially a truncated game)
