In the first half, the jokes etc. land quite well. The problem is the story. Very stupid agenda peddled. And while it has its moments, the issue of illegal immigration is not that big a deal for the overwhelming majority of Indians. It would strike a chord if it was about illegal immigration of various people into India. But when people choose to move out, it is simply perceived as the host nation's problem. The screenplay wasn't consistent. One moment there is a joke, suddenly you have Vicky Kaushal in a deadpan serious expression. They made a super serious movie out of a societal ill.
