So the pattern continues for us in U19 World cup finals..

Lost in 2016

Won in 2018

Lost in 2020

Won in 2022

Lost in 2024

Not too bad when compared to the choking standards set by the senior jokers but still I feel we could have easily demolished WI in 2016 and Bangla in 2020. Our batters failed big time in both finals..

This Australian team is just too good though. No real blame to Saharan and co...

Atleast these bowlers knows how to hold bat and doesnt look out of place like our senior team.

Yes ... A very pleasant and a much needed change in mentality at the grassroot levels. Our tail has been competent ever since the 2018 edition. Bowlers didn't look like absolute mugs..

well i was fearing for this too happen, i will say the team management was over confident and showed very less adaptability to respect the conditions, when the 3rd over was bowled by saumy pandey, it showed india lost the match…

laxman , kanitkar shoukd take up the loss and do a press conference how they couldn’t understand the conditions and only preferred same players in all the matches even when we had two good seamers in the dug out and an opener who was a run machine back in india , who we never thought too gave a chance even in one game..

You need secondary skills but it cannot come at the expense of your primary skill.

Bits and pieces players don't win anything in any format.

Been saying that for a while. Our u19s have been pushing in this direction, going for depth in batting over picking specialist bowlers.

The reason why we don't pick leggies as @Lone Wolf has rightly pointed out is we go for finger spinners who can bat. It was started by Dravid for 2018 side where we had 3 SLAs

A decent #8 is good, we don't need a #10 who can bat

Depth for the sake of depth has no use.Any player has to walk into the team primarly as a bowler or batsman.

Secondary skills should come next having said that if bowler is walking into the team based on just bowling, he better be closer to Glenn Mgcrath than to Mukesh Kumar.

Mukesh Kumar is useless in both departments.
