You need three pacers in ODI...  Can't expect to win WC's with 2 pacers.  Today both Bumrah & Siraj choked... And Shami stepped up.  Then Boom came back with some decent death bowling. 

 

Ashwin has no upside...  Can be taken to cleaners if there is dew.

He has some killer deliveries in his armory. Sometimes they become his enemy. But he is capable of triggering a collapse in a jiffy as much as Booms and Shami.  X-factor bowler. Prasidh can walk in after world cup.

His enemy is his excitable nature. Needs to be calmer and control his emotions.

Bumrah has to assume leadership here much like how Zak did his thing.  They have to work in partnership. Talk to each other. Share what works what doesn't.

I'm sure Bumrah does his part. But player has to do his bit too. He needs to be little detached and meditate

Today everyone was cranky. Bumrah, Siraj, Jadeja.  Thankfully Kuldeep showed a bit of maturity. And Shami.

With Siraj its a pattern. When he does well, you can see him sledging and giving send offs. Takes everything personally.

Yes. Hope he gains maturity. He did a great job in the absence of  Bumrah leading this attack. He didn't even have Shami either. With Prasidh coming in we can build a core unit that can be rotated around.Hope Tyagi somehow finds a place in the side. He can do the enforcer role.

No need to change what works so nicely.  If he was injured then Prasidh would come in. Ship has sailed for Ashwin to play in this world cup. He was backing Jadeja and Kuldeep only.

Same team please, Siraj has a far better ceiling than Ashwin currently.Siraj was unlucky that he was taken off after just 2 overs ,he was looking good.

Siraj is a rhythmic bowler ,if he gets some assistance off the pitch or air ,he can produce lethal opening spells which can win you matches.

He needs to improve is his death bowling and also bowl at a higher pace in the opening spell ,His pace needs to be near 145k (he has done it in the past) ,currently its 138-142K

Only 2 pacers? That's mental. Either back Prasidh over Siraj or just stick to Siraj.

Ashwin should play regardless of whether Siraj is playing or not. 

 

SKY at this point is getting wasted. And there's little point to his runs when the risk of playing 5 bowlers means India gets in trouble if one bowler has an off day. 

 

Play Ashwin in place of Sky and there's an adequate bowler who can bowl upto 6-7 overs if needed covering up for the one bowler who's got an off day.

 

And it isn't as if Ashwin's batting has been poor the last year or so. He's held his nerve in important moments as well.

Need Siraj, if he has crazy period of few minutes, he can rattle the batting line up of opposition. Ashwin can't do that. 3 pacers are needed.

You will go in a final by further thinning a batting which only has batting till 6?

You can't drop your 3 pacer strategy

Tomorrow it paid off,imagine had we played only 2 pacers ,pressure would have been immense on Bumrah and others including Shami

Finger spinners won't turn a match on its head now especially against these SENA beasts over 60 metre square boundaries
