2019 SF was a good performance. Early wicket plus ER below 5.

 

Plus in this semi came back well at the death.

we have 5 very good bowlers..they nee dto understand it..and hunt as a pack..

Bumrah just need to bowl on a tight line and length without overtrying..and just use his wrists which he has become good at..to get some subtle seam movement on both directions..

 

I have a feeling..the semis against NZ..was the more more nervous experience for the team. or fans lol...having gone through that..team must be confident and calmer now..

How is 2019 semis good performance from your best bowler when part time 5th bowler Jadeja out bowls you in conditions aiding fast bowlers.

 

 

Second in semi finals India were defending nearly 400 score and you are still nervous then something is wrong with you.

I also feel...Aussies..Warner\Head..must be looking to hit and put pressure on Siraj..TM needs to come up with some plans\plan B to negate that..

Past is irrelevant beyond a time. Never give that much importance to it.

He’s bowled pretty well. Pace is also decent. Good that his semi wasn’t that great. He’ll do better in the finals.

Siraj is the problem as far as Indian bowling goes. 

 

That said , he could easily turn up and take 2 wickets at the start of the innings. 

 

Bumrah is the bowler where it's difficult to score off of him without taking risks as a batsman. Doesn't matter too much if he conceded some runs, it's how you concede the runs that matters. Quite a lot of times in ODIs nowadays , thick edges going for 4s and 6s aren't accounted for. Those tend to spoil the figures. He's done reasonably well in the semifinal here. Started off terribly but was getting into the groove with a couple of good overs before he had to be replaced.

NZ made a lot of those runs through edges and we conceded 25 extras.

You either have it or you don't.

 

Baseball players chew tobacco to calm nerves - but I am not sure it really helps.

Are there any genuinely tall young bowlers worth investing in domestic? 

 

Simply can't have three 5'10" right arm fast medium bowlers running in  in every match.

 

 

Need a tall, mechanical seamer who can hit a length every day on any pitch like a Hazlewood .

Not a complete list

 

1)   Bumrah performed in the 2nd test in our 2020-21 tour to Australia, after we lost the 1st test scoring 36 all out.  It was a very critical match and we were under tremendous pressure. But Bumrah picked 6 wickets in that match.

 

2)  2018-19 tour to Australia and the series was tied 1-1.  Another loss meant we wouldn't win the series. But Bumrah picked 9 wickets in that match to get MoM.

 

3)  These 2 test series mentioned above have been 2 of our biggest achievements in test cricket history, and Bumrah has been a major contributor there. Such big away series are invariably very tough and players face tremendous pressure.

 

4)  2023 Asia Cup match vs Pakistan .. Playing Pakistan after a long time and hence a high pressure match. Bumrah bowled an amazing opening spell despite coming back from injury. 

 

5)  2023 WC Semi Final vs NZ .. Very high scoring match, where Southee, Boult, Ferguson and Siraj all went for 8 to 10 runs an over. Bumrah, despite being expensive in the first 3 overs, came back strongly and bowled his last 7 overs very well.

 

6)  India tour to England 2021 .. Series tied 1-1.  Bumrah bowled a tremendous spell in the 2nd innings, a very famous spell, to tilt it in our favour. And we went up 2-1. 

 

P.S ..  a)   1 for 39 in the 2019 SF is not a choke.  

b)  2021 WTC Finsl .. he was coming back from his honeymoon and a decent length break  Did not get any time to prepare. 

 

2017 CT Final was the only true choke on his part.

I think people evolve. Lets not forget he will be playing in his home ground. It could be a different day. He has kept his nerves in multiple test matches abroad. I dont see why he wont do it today.
