As Umar Akmal famously said...A mother from another brother

Whatever it is, if you know him personally, please convey to him that he has had the backing and support of internet fans even before he made it into the India XI. And that, no matter what, his obvious talent, work-ethic and dedication are inspiring.

And yet we played a 32 yr old HACK Shunya Kumar who laid eggs throughout the WC.

They backed eggsperience. Need good FC players in ODIs who can play in any conditions.

jab tak koi WC nahi jeet leta, unhe bas simple ek player hi kahein.

National treasure sirf Kapil aur Dhoni hain

I agree that not every Tom , Dick and Harry should be national treasure but it is another extreme to put only Dhoni and Kapil in that category. Many players have played their role during their time through performance and leadership.

Golden generation of Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dravid, Laksman, Kumble, Sehwag established seeds of the team that we seen during Dhoni era. The level of opponents that they have played is far greater than anything in last 10 years and still was comfortably one of the sides to beat during their time.

Both Dhoni and Kapil team were below average Test teams with Dhoni particularly struggling a lot against decent oppositions post the world cup win.

I am one of his biggest fans, but he does seem to have regressed a bit. I had complained a few months ago that he seemed happy playing 2nd fiddle to guys like Pandya. In this series, it seems like he is not clear on his role. As a finisher, he should start hitting from ball 1, even if he comes in with 5-6 overs left. Otherwise, he is taking singles, rotating strike, waiting for 19th and 20th to hit, but gets out sooner.

The seat just got a little hotter for him, IMO, especially since he does not bowl.

His best position is number 5 ( or even 4 ) - but he is type casted to be a finisher. As his FC & list A stats suggest he is a proper batsman and should not bat at 6/7
