They are old and slow, esp Rohit. I meant new team mgmt captain - Sky/Hardik are good for T20. These two have served since 2015 with no ICC results.

Samson should get a long rope. Rohit jaiswal kohli sky pandya samson rinku. Not sure who ll get dropped. We need to drop one out of these 7 as we need 6 bowling options. My gut feel is rohit kohli will open ( babar rizwan wala plan) with sky pandya samson rinku to follow. Then we will have axar at 7. Bowlers will be kuldeep bumrah siraj which leaves the 11th man to be a fast bowler or sundar depending on pitch. No other permutations available if not india get jaiswal and make hardik the 5th bowler..

Seniors like Rohit and Kohli won't hv returned to the T20 squad if Pandya(kaptaan) and SKY(VC) had remained match fit.  Can't entirely fault the TM here.   Pandya is the biggest fraud who will become super fit once the IPeeL starts. And the cycle repeats.   His entire career has been like that.  It sucks.

The issue is even after so much hullabulloo there is No back up for rohit and kohli. We have the following personnel. Name one who inspires trust and can play under pressure and face short pitch bowling well..

 

Iyer : closest but he ll be bounced out in deep midwicket

Gaikwad: inconsistent and slow starter. Also suspect against short bowling 

kl rahul: in bad books and hungama if he gets picked

ishan: certified hack. 20/27 balls the. 42 out after playing 35 balls. Cant rotate strike. 2 genuine shots : cow corner slog sweep and over bowlers head. 
 

Other contenders would have been patidar ( who hasnt got chance) and sai sudarshan. 
 

now tell me who would have TM picked.. deepak hooda ?

Wish more teams take a stand like Cricket Australia of not playing bilaterals with Afghanistan until they allow their women's team to play. 

ICC are money hungry so expecting them to ban Afghanistan for breaching this rule is useless.

Vijay shanker stopped bowling even in fc. Venky iyer had an ankle injury in 2022 since then he only played as an impact player substitute in ipl 2023. He didnt even bowm a single over in the current ranji match which is being played. Around 100 overs were bowled by MP.

Rohit and Jadeja are the worst ever players in the history of T20 WCs. Did nothing even at their peak. And look how obese Ro is now, no professional team will carry a fatso like him. 

 

Kohli selection is perfectly ok.

There are enough back up players to form the squad. But the problem is none of them are contenders for the captaincy and vice captaincy role in an intl t20 series.  Suddenly a rookie can't be made kaptaan (even temporarily).  Pandya & SKY getting injured simultaneously is a big concern.

Hardik has been playing for so many years too...you cant have a captain who is not even fit to play 90% of the time. You wud always be on the look out for stand in captains.
