tweaker Posted October 14, 2025 Author Posted October 14, 2025 Reddy should have bowled atleast 20 overs in 4 innings against West Indies.

I remember KKR not at all using seamer in one match and not at all using spinners in another match. He takes "horse for courses" to extreme.
cowboysfan Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 I dont think he is a good choice in Asian venues when he wont bowl, either play an extra proper batsman or better yet play a spinner who can actually bat.

rollingstoned Posted October 14, 2025 Posted October 14, 2025 Gill says they don't want to put pressure on some players who will play only overseas so want to pick them for even home tests even if they're underutilised.

ONe has to strike a balance between providing secure environment to new players and also picking the right players for given conditions. As of now he is having cover for both departments. Both pace and spin
crictime Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 Needs to improve his game by playing FC cricket. Currently his selection is not justified in test format. Batting average - 29.68 8 wickets in 13 innings Biwling avg - 39.62 Bowlingvstrike rate - 57 tapandrun and express bowling 2
maniac Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 He has hit that 2nd phase curse. This is the most critical phase for him, will he evolve or fade away wil be depending entirely on him. he has the talent, he is naturally athletic and a very good fielder he has very good basics with both bat and ball. However he needs to work on 2 things and take them to the next level. add 5 clicks of pace (he has good seam and swing skills) improve all round power game. Can hit big 6s vs spin but limited against pace. He needs to take it up a notch. this guy is a good, rare talent who can do a bit of both with potential. His bowling is definitely than Dube, Vijay Shankar. Lord and tweaker 1 1
vvvslaxman Posted November 23, 2025 Posted November 23, 2025 He has Dennis Lillee action. But result is more like Tinu Yohannan level. Anyway he has to be absolutely gun in one department. Either with bat or ball. He has to cross the "bits and pieces" line first by being good in department. Had a great maiden series. But in order to sustain it he has to cosntantly evolve in both epartments. Age is on his side.
putrevus Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 He was never going to work in India, he has place in SENA tours . He has proved, one innings does not make a career. It is not his fault he is being played here , he should have never been in the team. He should have been playing Ranji trying to improve his batting. tweaker 1
Prabhdeep Singh Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 Too much excitement over scoring a debut 100.

ungboysj Posted November 24, 2025 Posted November 24, 2025 He has no real talent batting ow bowling It's a failed investment have said it many times Atleast with rana u see some talent I don't see anything in him Frustrated 1
Sooda Posted May 21 Posted May 21 He's a good batsman but I don't think he is good enough to play purely as a batsman in tests. And his bowling will barely be a factor in a home test. I don't know about him in test cricket, feels a bit "bits and pieces" I feel an all rounder needs to be able to get in purely on the back of his primary skill, with his additional skill being a great bonus. The way prime Jadeja was a great bowler at home and his batting was that extra that made so much difference Would have rather seen a specialist bat (Sarfaraz) or Bowler (Auqib) instead Again the balance of the squad is odd with Sundar, one of Sundar or NKR will need to play. Sundar is only good enough with the ball to be one of five bowlers if there are two other spinners with him , say Dubey and Kuldeep putrevus 1

Can't expect the finished product at this age. I can see why the management persists with him. A fast bowling AR will resolve a lot of our SENA woes. A lot of our SENA issues is due to pace bowlers being overworked and unable to make incisions at the later end or our tail getting knocked over. Sooda 1
bsriharsha Posted May 22 Posted May 22 He's working on increasing his speed although I didn't see a noticeable increase this IPL atleast. He needs to be bowling 135 consistently and still have the movement to be in the reckoning as an all-rounder
