CG
Promising youngsters with high arm action and Ease with her is generating pace is something I have not seen by Indian bowler . ravishingravi, wanted_desi and tweaker 3 Link to comment
cowboysfan
so far what he done well is not bowl bad balls which is huge in T20 but he has a long way to go. express bowling 1 Link to comment

Popular Post vvvslaxman
I would love to see him as First Mayank yadav. Random comparisons rarely go well. nevada, tweaker, jf1gp_1 and 7 others 2 8 Link to comment
Chaos
Holding? For that to happen…. He needs to scare the f out of batsman, bowl at 145+ for 10 + yrs and average same as holding. He can be yadav. World has seen barely any holdings. Link to comment

He can be yadav. World has seen barely any holdings. WI alone has seen quite a few Holding-level bowlers. Hall and Roberts (both have higher avgs, but played in weaker attacks for longer time); Garner; Croft; Marshall; Ambrose. Agree with rest of post. it is premature to equate him with anyone else for now Link to comment
DeepSpace
Looks rapid on YT videos, but the bowling action is nowhere close to Holding who was as silky as they come. I have been hearing about tearaway fast bowlers upcoming for India, but never see them be play for India, let alone be successful. Bumrah is the fastest we have seen that has had success, but he is not tearaway. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
This is where IPL is highly effective. Few select posters have been talking about him for a while. Nobody bothered. One IPL match. He is trending on twitter. We already have three threads in our forum. Even padosi forum has a thread. Link to comment
gakgupta
Speed is nothing without skill... I am happy for his success.. but long way to go Link to comment
First class
Was weekend and this was the first match of IPL I watched and what a shocking surprise to see a rookie bowler bowling at 150 plus. Wow, everything is right with his runup and delivery and bowls effortless 150 plus deliveries. A star is born and I hope he will be handled properly. Should be fast tracked to the national team . ravishingravi, express bowling, Vijy and 1 other 4 Link to comment

Sure batsman will start to use his pace in the coming days. But that is part and parcel of any pace bowler. I remember how Gayle manhandled 150k deliveries from Brett Lee in ENgland during the world T20. Heck even Krunal Pandya thrashed Mark wood in one of the one dayers. Link to comment
Number
The extra bounce he generated from good length area made him difficult to hit. Full spell here -> https://x.com/cricket_factt/status/1774144794253509020?s=20 express bowling 1 Link to comment

nevada
From Cricinfo: "Mayank is a 21-year-old fast bowler from Delhi who has had to struggle with injuries. LSG scouted him and looked after him while he was injured during the Ranji Trophy season." Hope he doesn't suffer any more injuries! Even Joffra Archer looked like he generated "effortless" pace and was compared with Holding, but it took a toll on his body. Link to comment

Adamant
What is his height? Looked tall but internet is showing 5”11. Really exciting prospect, anyone who bowls 150kph is definitely hype worthy. Link to comment

Generating extra bounce from good length is a handy weapon. He is quite tall with reasonably high arm action. Although I agree, he is very very raw. He didn't bowl a single slower ball either, that is an absolute must in this format. Edited March 31 by Number Link to comment
