MAYANK YADAV .... EXPRESS and bouncy Indian pacer who is accurate too

He was asked whether he thought about bowling slower balls.

Mayank said that it was in his plans but after seeing how his quick balls were fetching results, he decided to keep bowling quick and captain agreed too.

He also Saud that he has always heard about debut nerves but it disappeared after he bowled his 1st balls.

And he sounded very calm and like someone thinks about what to bowl and the conditions.

Even Dhawan told that Bairstow was trying to hit him by making space. But he was bowling into his body and not giving any space to hit it through.

I am sure Kartik Tyagi will be itching now to turn the heat. He used to call Umran as it's competitor, now he has to change the competitor to Mayank.

Nice. Sounds intelligent bro. Even Dhawan was praising him that he outsmarted him. Bowled him yorker when he wanted to work his pace and kept him to a single. Bumrah should take him under his wing.

I don't follow domestics anywhere near as much as you guys, lol. I get to know most of them through ICF only. @Suhaan

@Mosher @express bowling @Rightarmfast @rkt.india , you and others know a lot more about the scene

High speed + accuracy + bounce a deadly combo.

Exactly bro !

We should look for new genuine quicks who have accuracy + bounce. This is the key.

Tyagi has pace and bounce. Needs to get his line right. This is what coaches should work on instead of making stale statements like " the faster it comes the faster it goes ".

Umran has pace and could bowl good lines. But lacks bounce. He should work on getting back his good lines without losing pace.

I just don't understand this thinking from some people. A 21 year old is having a dream debut on IPL with some hostile bowling effort and this is what he's to say.

Umaran Just need 1 ball, may be try changing the direction of the seam and bit of support from his team and TM.

Even if a bowler is short and able to crank up 150+ kmph that's not easy to handle. And always a great batter in their prime will be able to handle any kind of pace.

But not all batters great against pace.

Umran can be skiddy bowler who specialises in yorkers. Did really well last season.

Mayank and Tyagi look more complete.

I would love if there is mini contest between them in IPL. Tyagi and Umran should play consistently

There are plethora of idiots on SM who keep crying without knowing ABCD of cricket.

Jeff Thompson is regarded as the OG express bowler of cricket. So much so that his impact is seen in cricketing discussions even now, every Auzzie express quick is compared to him. He had a glorious career in Tests...

Injuries will happen to everyone. Washington Sundar is an spinner while Deepak Chahar is a medium pacer. Still 9 out of 12 months they are in the hospital.

Not everyone need to play 100 Tests or pickup 500 wickets. A bowlers even if plays 20 Tests but help me win 15 of them...he is a star in my view.

Better to ignore such doofuses.

that is cricinfo for you. shameless trundler fetish on display

moreover, that comment is factually inaccurate. shoaib akhtar had a top-notch test and ODI career. not on par with two Ws, but arguably as good or better than any pre-bumrah/shami indian pacer [ahead of srinath IMO]. and Lee played mostly in the flattest pitch decade: had a solid enough test career given this fact.

We all learn from each other, everyone is busy with their lives. So everyone's contribution is key here in building up this family.

Yes clear lack of understanding pace bowling attack, you do not form a bowling attack around an express bowler. You need bowlers who could bowl 140+ kmph sustainably and then u add an express bowlers.

Lee had an excellent test record has 300 test wkts.

Shoib had multiple issue - his knees plus internal issues with team and pcb. Still has 170 + wkts in less than 50 matches

Tait dint play much as he was playing in similar era as Lee, he played just 3 test when did he break his back in test??

I always thought tyagi had the highest potential (i.e., ceiling) of the 4: rana, tyagi, umran, mayank. note that "potential/ceiling" does not refer to actual performance. based on today's performance, it feels like mayank might have equally high ceiling as tyagi, perhaps even more too

Missed his bowling but so pleased to read these comments.

May Goddess Kali keep this kid safe from those asuras Dravid, Mhambrey and Rohit. Dravid will be the saddest man tonight, his dream of fielding Mukesh, Unadkat, Sakariya in Perth faces another obstacle now.

Dravidiot will still play the following "pace" attack in T20Is: D. Chahar, M. Kumar, A. Khan/Undercutter

Shoaib was actually best of the trio at tests, better than Lee (who had greater fitness, hence more tests and wkts)
