This was ot surprising. He is very young. So injury is expected. Cummins career started with spat of injuries. So was Zaheers so was Shamis.  There are only few guys that didn't suffer major injuries most of their career. Agarkar and ishant are case in point.

Bumrah too didn't suffer any major injury despite that action.

Mayank tends to go beyond the perpendicular while bowling.(10-11 o clock).  Not sure how many degrees of lateral flexion is involved.

That can't be good for him.  Needs to work on bowling arm coming from 1 o clock maybe

What do you mean? He has been out twice for a long long time because of back injuries and once because of abdominal strain. There was also a thumb fracture but that was just unlucky

I meant early in his career when he was 22-23. Current injuries are just due to massive workload

He did have big injury in the IPL just before he was picked for India In 2014 if I remember and Bumrah wasn't a tearaway pacer back then.

Play him directly against Padosis. Imagine him at full tilt against their lullo batsmen.

Will he even be fit? Fitness can go against him.

Mayank is as fit or as unfit as most rookie tearaway quicks.

Expect him to be fit for the WC unless there is a fresh issue.

soreness-- Is no injury, batters plays with this kind of issue all the time, had bat net session got hit in non-protected area.

This kind of injury is not even considered an injury, unless something serious is there--looks like media/people are hell bent to prove that he is injury prone in some kind.

He bowled 150+ kmph in 2 matches and then dropped to ~140s that why people noticed that something is wrong for any other bowlers they would have done their quota and it would be business as usual, take rest from nets and no noise and commentators would be telling they are trying slower ones pitch is grippy

Some said he has a side strain which takes weeks to recover

Till now LSG has been saying soreness, not sure if there is anyother update after that. Strain, then should consider him  out of IPL and it would be better he rest -recovers and take his time till fully fit, play some club games before returning into any kind of prof. cricket
