Justin Langer interested in replacing Rahul Dravid as India head coach, says he's ‘curious' as BCCI opens applications

Justing Langer would be “fascinated” to coach the Indian team. He expressed his “curiousity” as BCCI invited applications for the Rahul Dravid's post.

Former Australia opener and the current head coach of the Lucknow Super Giants, Justin Langer is "curious" about the Indian cricket team's head coach role. The position will be up for grabs after current coach Rahul Dravid's tenure ends after the T20 World Cup. The BCCI invited applications for the same on Monday night.

Interview question: JL, what is your biggest strength as coach?

JL: I will always be there to bail the team out of tough situations!!

Ye sab time pass hain. Hoga toh VVS hi coach :phehe:

I would hire VVSL's car driver over Langer.

There is no place for blatant cheats in the game. JL should never have seen the light of day on a cricket field after that bail incident. Effin A-hole Ozzies - all that toughness is just a facade. There are so many examples of them crumbling like krackjack biscuits the moment someone fights back even a bit. Cheat their arses off and when caught cry like little bybees. We don't need them coaching the Indian team.

No need for Bazball here. Vettori strikes me as a boring draw-based type. None of the foreign coaches this time inspire much confidence

He ha probably learned from his dad, i.e., how he was made the head of BCCI. He probably think that's how things work in real world and appoints captains the same way his dad made him the head of BCCI

He is secretary of BCCI not head.

LOL clowns like Flemming, Vettori, VVS should be nowhere near the Indian side.
They are more suited for retirement leagues. Both Flemming and Vettori have a massive trundler/slow bowler fetish. And Flemming appears to be extremely risk averse.
Need someone with a fresh perspective and who's fearless, aggressive and bold. and someone who doesn't GAF besides his tenure.

All this talk is futile if egos of indian superstars are not clipped- would a foreign coach be ok being a yes man while BCCI and corporate sponsors dictate team selection? Aussies wont take it lying down- esp Langer and Ponting. Indian players would prefer someone like VVS as they can do what they like with a meek man in charge.

Imagine a KL Rahul and VVS combo- god help me
