And the problem is not his intent - he's trying his best but his skill, reflexes and fitness is simply not there. Literally, every opener in IPL is better than him. We already have a lot of passengers in the team - Chahal, Siraj, Avesh, Arshdeep, Axar, Jadeja - and we can't afford to carry a non-performing passenger at the top of the order as well. Essentially, all our eggs are in the Jaiswal bucket. If he goes early, Rohit can't do shyte, and Kohli will be in "consolidation" mode. And it's not as if we've hitters down the order. Jadeja at 7 can't hit, and our bowlers can't hold the bat. We neither have decent bowling (bar Bumrah), and nor are we a good fielding side. Our only option is to score enough runs somehow, but with this current version of Rohit, that's not gonna happen. When others open with likes of Head, Warner/Marsh, Buttler, Bairstow, Conway, Fin Allen, we go with Rohit. At the moment, even Pak with Babar and Rizwan would be better than us. Surely, we have to make a last minute change, and better sense prevails. We've to make a few changes as this current lost can't get past Super 8s. We first saw need for new approach in t20 during wc21. In wc22 it was evident overhauls were required. Lets see when we learn our lesson

Results matter. When you're able to win 3 tourneys, essentially 60% (3 out of 5) of all the ICC tourneys we've won in our history, you get that leeway. And he has proven his approach is not luck or flash in the pan as 3 times can't be luck when the current lot can't even fluke even one over the last decade. I'll be fine with Rohit, Kohli etc. following the Dhoni approach as long as they deliver those tourneys. The big difference is that Dhoni did while Rohit & Kohli have done zilch. I'll take that shamelessness if it gets me 3 ICC tourneys.

He misses some of the most obvious match ups, strategies, tactics on the field. Cummins totally outcaptained him by using the long boundary with into the pitch stuffs. This guy didn't even have slips. Didn't back Ashwin even after knowing Head has issue against off spin. Ultimate_Game and Lord 2

On that pitch I would've done exactly what we did against Aussies in 2011 Q/F at Motera. We opened with Ashwin and simply didn't allow them to get a move along. This was a similar pitch and with Head at the top of the order. Ashwin was a no-brainer especially when Siraj was so inconsistent. Really thought we would go with Ashwin in place of Siraj in that game, and didn't expect Rohit to be so clueless.

That is the real main issue, you can't have that leverage Dhoni has balanced his ICC wins with almost equal number of losses not counting his beyond pathetic test captaincy I know Dhoni was another level to the leadership skills of these clowns, still Dhoni dragged his career by 4 years Nor was he batting well to merit a place,Rohit and Kohli are way past their sell by date Both of them should have called it a day after Nov 19 to leave the space for newcomers atleast in t20s And I know these leeches won't go eyeing 2027 WC Both are shameless to the core express bowling 1

Give me 3 trophies out of 10. So far Kohli and Rohit are batting 0/10. In Tests Dhoni wasn't that good - he was a white-ball guy and that's why quit Test captaincy. But after Dhoni, even with better bowling (Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Ashwin, Jadeja etc.) we haven't won even a single tourney while Dhoni was able to win with the likes of RP Singh, Sreesanth, Munaf, Ishant etc. Kohli & Rohit have simply wasted our best bowling lineup in our history due to poor selection or choking. They've to be held accountable for that. All well and good going after Dhoni but he gave up captaincy nearly a decade ago and did deliver 3 ICC cups. AuxiliA 1
