I guess you dont know how a team environment works nor aware the role a captain plays in both team/squad selection.

 

Many lessons can be learnt. BCCI ought to have workshops for the young IPL stars including professional conduct, media skills. 

 

Then especially coach/captain,  also should communicate directly , with those hopeful players who couldn’t make into squad. Explain them their reasons + future encouragement/confidence.

I know exactly how it works and the best way to destroy any team is to put in a leader who doesn't deserve to be there. When the captain himself is anointed without any performance, it's easy to see how the youngsters who've been left out truly feel. Tough to explain the reasons for exclusion when non-performers get into the squad no matter what.

he won't be playing for india... ever. indian selectors, TM, etc will be quite strict on him - whether it is warranted or not is a separate debate.

When we lost, he was graceful and didn’t even point one finger or raised any concern, never gave interviews to media complaining how he was ignored despite probably being amongst the top 3 greatest Indian pacers of all time……..

 

Now we have this ****

Performed in one season of IPL and domestics and thinks India owes him a place in the squad.

 

The fans supporting this are the same ones who think Indian young talent is as good as aussies of 2000s and IPL is the gold standard and Surya is Indias best ever t20 bat.
