ravishingravi Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Must be cognitive biases for sure. I surely can't understand his worth in T20. As I watched the highlights I couldn't help but as if this serious team. Pant should have been out 5 times. Taking insane chances and looking ugly at most times. In fact, for all risks he just scored 42 off 31. Against better team he could get exposed. New guy, raki05 and Frustrated 2 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Pre-meditation is one reason. If he reacts to ball, ball just finds the fielder. So he tries to invent strokes and gets into awkward positions. This is why he has not cracked the T20 code yet. raki05, cowboysfan and RajBan 2 1
cricketfan28 Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Looks like he is given a role to just go and hit, the rest may be to anchor and they failed.
Ultimate_Game Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 IMO if they don't want to play Jaiswal, they should promote Pant to open and let him go for it in PPs. Push Kohli down to 3 - his natural spot. Ideally, I would prefer Jaiswal to open. raki05 1
Gollum Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 I didn't like how he lost his wicket, should have looked to bat all 20 overs because other end was useless. But great day for him. Flukey knock sure but hella effective, and what keeping yaar.
lemsip Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Weird picking on the only batsman who scored any runs at all yesterday from either side ! dilliboy and Gollum 2

We saw enough batsmen with classical techniques fail miserably yesterday. Under very tough conditions, his unconventional approach saved the day for India otherwise they would have folded for 60-70 under overcast skies and on that pitch. IndianRenegade and Gollum 2
Gollum Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Don't really care how people look as long as they get the job done. Smith at the peak of his powers looked ugly af and a prime candidate for LBW with his weirdass shuffle, but he had his methods to be effective. lemsip 1

Kothili Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 Third rate scumbags here will blame Dravid for this too. New guy, Chakdephatte, Laaloo and 1 other 1 3

Not specifically talking about y day match. But in general he bats like this when simple stand and deliver stuff will do.
dilliboy Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 He identified the best way to score runs on that pitch..strike rate of 140 when other players struggled to play run a ball. If not for him, India weren't crossing 100 Gollum and Ultimate_Game 2

Pant will play in 3-5, and won't be considered as an opener

On WI pitches, Dube may fire but we all know Jadeja won't do anything.

He makes it difficult for the opposing captain to set fields and breaks up the bowlers' rhythms as he did to Rauf yesterday. He is an unconventional package but it works most of the time and especially in tough conditions. There are enough players in the batting order to play conventional innings. As many times before in his career, his innings stood out and was the difference between a somewhat competitive score and an embarrassing one.
Need4Speed Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 in his awful state if he is making 40 I am happy..he is out of syllabus for every captain..We dont want to rely on him but let him create all the difference..play him like a wild card.. now see we have Dube,Jadeja etc to compare with :D Gollum 1
cowboysfan Posted June 10, 2024 Posted June 10, 2024 T20 is not his game but if his only competition is Sanju Samson then i will pick him every time/ Ultimate_Game 1
