Excellent squad. Especially love the variety in the pace bowling. Usual phaast bowling phaaasn would want Mayank who cant last 2 over in IPL and Umran and Tyagi who cant even find a place in regional teams to be selected. But there is a reason why you guys are chumps venting frustration on a forum and they are professional selectors.

Better not to give any attention such conspiratorial  thinking - This lobby, that lobby etc. etc. It is so easy to make these associations with no basis whatsoever.

 

My guess is that there is a stupid selection queue. Deshpande has been slogging at the fringes for a few years. So, they gave him a chance. Harshit is young and has just arrived at the door. Let him wait.

Official Announcements are still not done, Laxman might be going as a coach.

I agree with queue part. Khalil and avesh were given as soon as they were announced as wc backups. I personally am fine with Avesh he did well in ipl. One name missing is verma is he injured ? Also

Sanju, Sundar, Mukesh, Tushar was the point of selecting them for a Zim series.

 

Sanju is second wkt keeper in this wc because Ind TM didn't want to go with KL and the fall-out between TM and Kishan. Sanju plays in top 3/4 positions, Ind must find some1 else for that position.

 

It would have been better if they have selected Porel (DC) as the second keeper now, time for Sanju is gone unless he directly slots into 11 when Ind fields its top side.

 

There is no point of playing off-spinner who is not a genuine batter, these days off-spinner has to be genuine batter as it gives luxury if bowl them if LH batters are there.

Think they should try Arshad Khan (LSG) LAF skiddish bowler can bat and hit few at #7/8/9

 

Ind had to call Akash deep for that eng series out side from the team even if they had Mukesh, Mukesh was not even able to make it to 18 member's team to the WC.

The team selections are all over the place. On one hand they are including Tushar, Khaleel over Harshit despite latter performing better in IPL. Maybe to justify that domestic still holds value.

 

On the other hand Jitesh who was designated keeper for T20's before the IPL was suddenly dropped out of the scheme and Samson is ahead of him. Jurel I understand is rewarded for his exemplary performance vs England. But by that logic Akashdeep should leapfrog Mukesh and he outperformed Mukesh on the big platform.

 

Someone should question the selectors and try to understand their mentality for some selections. But our reporters are too scared to ask.

My understanding is Mayank requires more time to recover and probably Harshit is marked for odi and tests else both these would have been definitely picked.

Nattu is too slow for international cricket.

Harshit and Mayank probably are marked for tests and may be ODI..mayank is  recovering too- not 100 percent fit.

Varun seems to be becoming a defensive bowler and if I have to pick him or bishnoi..bishnoi

Jitesh is a better keeper than Sanju and scores fast also..he was kinda cheated. probably dhruv is preferred.

is zahir khan becoming the bowling coach and jonty becoming fielding coach.

Venky Iyer, Nattu, Varun C should have been there.

Feel sad for Varun Chakravarthy.

The guy was made scapegoat for the shitshow by batters in 2021 wc and now being overlooked since then despite good performances.
