Most like me haven’t had problem with Rohit except his captaincy where he allowed kohli to open. It’s the most open secret that he isn’t fit for that role.  Australia tried with smith opening and realized he isn’t suited for t20 and discarded rightly . For comparison , see the India Australia match and watch how their openers were using every angle of the ground . Kohli just doesn’t have an openers game , jaiswal does . Even Dhawan would have been a better opener than kohli.  

 

kohli has been a poor fielder , average batsman in icc events in knock out stages. Pressure gets to him . And he is selfish to the core . Him opening despite jaiswal is the most selfish move I have seen in international cricket . Only Pakistani team has similar examples like Babar opening inspite of being most mediocre . 

 

I hope kohli gets out quickly or makes a 15 ball 25 and gets out  . Any other scenario and we will loose big time.  If I were England, I wouldn’t get him out .

Wait until the finals where Kohli is going to do a Dhoni 2011, and their fans forever gonna claim that he won us this world cup. 

 

Anyway, WT20 title is the only major title he is missing. Hope he achieves it here and leave the T20Is for good.

They have backed the wrong horse for this role.  They are expecting him to play the role of Jayasuriya, Greatbatch, Kaluvitharana in 90s ODIs. He cannot play this role. It is like using MSD as a powerplay accelerator.  You need to back someone who inherently bats like that.   Jaiswal is the only one. Otherwise Pant.  He could bat at 6 or 7 towards the back end. Kohli doesn't have these funky shots behind the wicket to deal with tricky nature of the surfaces. Most of his shots are in the V. There is a reason why Kohli's strike rate at chepauk in the IPL is mere 111.

We hv been saying this since the WT20 started.  But Vada Pav is too rigid to see this.  He would go with unchanged playing11.
