Ultimate_Game Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 It's time to give credit to Hardik Pandya. He has taken lot of heat, some of it unjustifiably. Some of it is more due to optics as Pandya comes across as an arrogant person who doesn't care. The way he comes across and some of the thing he says, Pandya is not an easy person to like. But you have to give it to him that he shows up when it matters and has the clutch gene. He has always tormented padosis, and somehow always performs in ICC knockouts. Shows why Indian team has backed him so much as he lends the kind of balance which nobody else can provide. We've seen enough of Dubes, Vijay Shankars etc. and nobody has come close to matching Pandya. Losing him in WC 2023 was a huge loss and if he hadn't been injured the final definitely wouldn't have been the way it turned out. Hats off to you PandyaYou're a true match winner! singhvivek141, BlueBee, Norman and 4 others 3 2 2

jf1gp_1 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Critical to our winning cup. Batted well bowled well and such an amazing spell in final. What a turn around.
singhvivek141 Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Absolutely clutch performance...he proved us wrong. This shows he has tremendous amount of potential, its just the mindset where he goes missing. He too had to take some blame as he was behaving arrogantly, but this WC he played like a team man under the shadows. That being said, the search for a genuine allrounder in longer shouldn't pause though. Dube is not the solution, Pandya's bowling may not work in the longest format in SENA countries. BCCI need to celebrate for a day or two and then switch to prepare for the next big tournament. ICC trophies matter a lot. Frustrated and Ultimate_Game 2
Kron Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Absolutely clutch.stud Wonderful Beastly performance. Salute
Lord Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 tbh he got lucky in the final over. A filthy full toss got a wicket instead of six and afterwards gave a wide too. Was clearly nervous bigtime. Arshdeep gave 4 runs in 19th over and left 15 for Pandu. Real unsung hero velu and Real McCoy 2

Cause Miller moved away a bit. You mean the one that got smacked hard but ended up being caught by sky? Yea that was a bad ball. Low wide full tosses can be wicket taking though. It's a double edged sword. Get it wrong and it can backfire badly. Edited June 30, 2024 by Kron

coffee_rules Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 (edited) Sabke PR chalu. Oscar wala acting! Tbf, was a star performer throughout the tournament Kauvva Biryani for me! Edited June 30, 2024 by coffee_rules BacktoCricaddict and Ultimate_Game 1 1
vvvslaxman Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 My only complaint about him was missing crucial matches due to injuries. Imagine him in place of SKY in the final . India could have dropped Siraj and played Ashwin. We would have looked at a different final. Ultimate_Game 1
Number Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 (edited) A guy who can bowl 145 with good accuracy, can hit sixes with such ease. Puts his hands up in pressure situations more often than not. Basically the most rarest breed of talent. Still gets abused. Edited June 30, 2024 by Number Ultimate_Game 1

Some of Indian fans even abused Bumrah and talked so much **** when he missed t20 world cup, saying he plays for Ambani money only. Now they all look like big fools. rollingstoned and Ultimate_Game 2
Real McCoy Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 He kept himself somewhat calm in the most nerve wracking of all encounters - bowling the last over of the final of a world cup. He also got lucky when he succumbed to those nerves as the first ball was a full toss almost got hit for six. I think that over took a lot out of him mentally as he was crying and lying on the pitch after the match. Also don't let the euphoria hide the fact that this is not that great a t20 side. India has a lot of holes that are due to our age old philosophy of not adapting to the recent changes. Teams like England and Australia have caught on. We could have lost any of the last 3 games to Aus, Eng, and to SA. And that is the thing that needs to be fixed after this world cup. Ultimate_Game 1
