Possible Champions Trophy Squad (2025)

Man, Rohit needs to go now. He just doesn't have the stamina these days to play those long knocks in ODIs that he used to play at his peak. We'll most likely play our games in hot Dubai/Abu Dhabi so this limitation of him will be further accentuated.

It'd have been ideal for him to just hang his boots for good after yesterday's win.

We need to prepare Mayank Yadav and Harshit Rana.

Harshit can bat at 8 and provide balance to the Team.

Harshit will probably be a replacement for Siraj/Pandya

India should not make the mistake of playing Kohli and Rohit.

In 2017, we continued with Dhoni and Yuvraj and by the time the World Cup arrived, we didn't have a #4 and we didn't have a proper wk/batter.

Need to get enough matches into those who are likely to play 2027.

BTW where will the 2027 world cup be held?

Still a long way to go.

I think Rohit is desperately eyeing another ICC title before retiring.

Not sure if he has the stamina for playing a long inning.  Realistically, the best we can hope from him is a consistent 40 ball 50 kind of inning (Assuming he plays CT 2025)

I think India will play Champions trophy in Padosiland this time. BCCI might want the Padosis to experience Kohli and Rohit play in their country for one last and first time. They will be definitely over the moon if Kohli and Rohit play there.

That should mean more pace bowling resources, allrounders and batsmen who can play on seaming tracks...

yeah but CT will be in Asia so don't think too diffreent from 23 WC squad.

Absolutely, especially Kohli has a fanatic fan following in Pakistan.

Rohit doesn't have the stamina to play ODIs? Rohit should have retired from all formats? ICF has learnt absolutely no lessons of making senseless judgments about our players despite the T20 WC win.

FFS, the guy scored two Test 100s just a few months back, scored 600+ runs in the WC 8 months back. Reason he is not playing those 'long' knocks, is because he's taking lot many risks (may it long continue and rub off on rest of the team). Listen to everyone in the team, they all talk about team and not personal milestones. This has been the template for quite some time and the new team management will have no choice but to stick to it.

Experts on ICF can keep cribbing (like they did non-stop for the last few months including till the Semis) but Rohit and Kohli will get to decide when they'll move on from tests and ODIs. Both can continue to play for another 2-3 years. T20Is is where the youngsters can come in and push others in the ODI format.

Their ODI pitches don't seam around as much.  It's about  handling the bounce

They mostly have good batting tracks only with slight variations & swing in the Highveld, spin at PE, Durban etc.
