Virat Kohli to settle down in London with his family ?

Rumors (may be true) all over internet about this.

Does this mean retirement is coming soon from other formats too ?

Or we will see him skipping more and more series and tournaments ?

How will BCCI and the new coach react to his skipping of games and series etc when it happens.

I don't think he is that important in Tests for us but in ODIs it will take time to replace him.

From personal and family point of view, good decision I think. The couple might be feeling suffocated as big celebs can't breathe freely in India.:p:

India's team selection for ODIs should be based on who is likely to be available for 2027 world cups. Bilateral wins have lost its significance. Besides INdia can still win bilaterals with noobs.  He will be 38.  So his form should be the sole criteria. Not reputation.  In order to prove his form he must play all the internationals. Not pick and choose.

Kohli and family's decision to settle down and live wherever he wants. As long as he stays away from the team, it's all good. Don't want to see players take "break" whenever a crucial series comes up. Did it during the Aus series in 2020-21, against Eng recently, and then skipped out of WT20 warm ups. Enough of disrupting the team and let's get players who prioritize team.

Not only a break. He will also steal credit from the captain who won lol

Yup, can't forget how he tried stealing credit away from Rahane for the Aus series win. Rahane led from the front and probably the best captaincy I've ever seen from an Indian captain and it was all about Kohli after the series :giggle:

This is bcci so the form will be judged based on ipl performances, regardless of the format.

No need to worry about 2027 right now, so many things will happen in between

He won 2 of thr most challenging series once against aus abroad and another one at 2017 where Kela magically performed against his true nature.

Still feel bad for rahane. Idiot was a great captain. We would have won wtc twice with him as captain. Instead of losing.

All he had to do was average 40 plus. Jesus it's not that hard. He failed.

Even 35 average would have done it. But he couldn't do that either.

If he really want to roam freely, I don't think London is the right place.

Plus Birmingham to London is only 160kms...

He can easily afford multiple estates in UK... Doesn't has to move to London specifically

And some in this thread were crying over the fall of uk .

Racist and bigots will always cry about any diversity, better to ignore them. As if UK was doing great last few years.
