3 medals just in shooting( 2 of them by one female athlete) literally the whole squad has regressed and filled with people who are nowhere near competitive at Olympic level.

Harsh as it is IOC should stop sending sailing, golfers, rowers etc and focus the investment in 2 or 3 sports. Better to send 20 athletes and win 5 medals than 150 and win 1 medal

we should forget about any of those 14 15 rich sports. we don have funds for that. you are right. just focus on what we can afford to fund given our corrupt government.

I absolutely don't find anything wrong with his fitness. Infact Sen was moving better than that guy. Just that shot selection was poor. TOo many lobs with open court allowed Lee to come back.

problem is he is weak as fuk. thats the problem.

Yup has been quite an underwhelming Olympics for sure. If by some miracle Neeraj  and Hockey team win golds, it can still be a successful campaign. But not too optimistic as it's extremely difficult to repeat in Olympics so Neeraj will find it very difficult to win again. And Hockey will need to overcome not just the opponents but also the refereeing which tends to be biased in favor of European/gora teams.

Avinash Sable steeplechase race - First Round

Nisha in wrestling won her first round to reach the quarters. Let's see if she can get past a north korean for the semis. Don't think she will - but anyways.

most of the losses we are calling disappointments were not top players, Like Lakshay they were mostly only outside chances needing luck to favor them which did not happen.   Kusale was a surprise medal. otherwise, we hardly had any real confident medal contender whom we could say yes he will win with 100% confidence, not even Manu.

100 M women's race was won by a someone who never won any gold medal in international stage in 100m before this Olympics.

It is sports upsets do happen, Indians IMO are not looking to win the whole thing in their sport .

Most of them are happy to get any medal by chance. That killer instinct in missing.

4th place finish is not bad for Lakshya. He is WR12 and unseeded here.

Disappointed as we are, beating Christie here was a big achievement.

He needs to learn from it and move on.

looks like beating christie might have been a fluke after all.

This olympics started with a lot of promise with the shooting. It's becoming bit of a disaster. Not as bad as Rio, but I think with the potential promise I think it's a huge disappointment.

I see many 4th and qf finishes just outside the medals. Conversion issues.

I reember playing table tennis in the final  with one of the state champion in my college contest. I was able to go 9-9, But then he brought his A game. I did not score a single point after that 21-9. THoroughly thrashed me. You can try all you want. BUt when the opponent plays a better game you have to play outside your capacity to beat a superior opponent.  So you need a bit of luck.

more like quick thinking on the fly. make a swot analysis in the mind. this is what great players do. for players of sachin's caliber, he will have the fielders map in his brain everytime he faces a ball and play appropriately
