Thats my point-if they are seriously thinking of bidding with the view of spending billions of $ then why not use that money first to invest at grassroots? bypassing federation politicians and making sure kid actually see the infrastructure and facilities for them

No way. Or else how will our vile politicians make money. They will sy 800 crore was allocated for khelo india but of that 600 crore probably looted by our own corrupt boards. It's not transparent like western countries. Or even china

100% agree with your point.See that is a vision, kids playing sports mean they are more healthy. It has to come from Govt and public too.

 

Parents have to let kids play sports, govt has to increase awareness in public. 

 

Grassroots need to get more infrastructure and public also have to utilize it properly. Are we not seeing new trains being spit on and ruined by public.Public property needs to be protected.Politicians like Brij Bhushan have to be kicked out.

 

But most important hungry stomachs don't care about sports. Poverty needs to eliminated, they are all interlinked.

 

How many kids are working to feed their families.

Have they done anything related to technology or manufacturing? Ambanis will always be inferior in terms of entrepreneurship and nation building to Tatas.

 

Put that money into infrastructure, healthcare and sewage treatment in cities.

 

 

Instead of olympics we should plan to host the commonwealth. Delhi changed after The commonwealth. So much infrastructure was built for the games. 

 

It costs far less and there is no host for the games currently so it's easy to qualify.

Some say it is hardest sport to play.I heard from a NHL player saying he could not play water polo with girls in high school.

Yes they do, Jan Waldner is considered best TT player not from China. He won gold in 1992.

1989 Sweden had a golden generation of applegren ,Waldner and Pearson who countered the Chinese pen hand style…they thrashed china 5-0 In the final of worlds..Chinese world champions were made to look impotent..itwas a big shock at the time as a Chinese win was taken for granted those days as well .china regained supremacy a decade later..Waldner is a legend..Pearson was a coach for the Indian team at one time..their story can make for a great movie
