Also importantly If Lakshya and HS Prannoy both win their respective group ( K & L) they face each other in round of 16. So basically one indian is then guaranteed a quarterfinal place and one win away to have two bites at an Olympic medal.

Poor guy has to play one game extra.

There is a very highly ranked Indonesian J. Christie in Lakshya's group.

Though not medal event, the Ind vs Arg hockey fixture is a big one. Win will guarantee QF spot, and Arg (Rio gold medalists) is a top team, lost 0-1 to Aus in their opening game.

Irrespective against whom they lose, taking shots at and throwing them under the bus publicly is not on. She still has an event coming up and the coaches and admins are busy piling on her. What sort of rubbish is that? If you didn't think the player wouldn't win, don't select her. But once you have, support them no matter the results.

Unfortunately, this time around I see hockey as more of a surprise provider than the motivator it was last time. The team has noticeably regressed.
