Possible 1st Test Line Up Vs Australia at Perth

Opener in absence of Rohit and No.6 are really up for grabs.  Plus a fast bowling spot.

1. Rohit / Easwaran

2. Jaiswal

3. Gill

4. Kohli

5. Pant

6. KL Rahul/ Nitish Reddy

7. Jadeja

8. Sundar

9. Harshit

10. Akashdeep

11. Bumrah

I am positive Siraj gets dropped this time from playing 11. Rana or Prasidh will likely get a game.

Sarfaraz will miss out.

Nitish if he plays will likely get no.6 spot.

Possible that KL Rahul will get in somehow to open or no.6

2 spinners in Perth is overkill. Infact none is required if pitch is spicy.

6 batsman + Washington+ 4 fast bowler ( with Harshit giving support at No.8)

Harshit

Akashdeep

Bumrah

Siraj

Yeah ideal line up but would like to replace Siraj with Prasidh who looks like can slog as well.

Mine in case Rohit unavailable

Jurel

Jaiswal

Gill

Chokli

Pant

Sarfaraz (final chance)

Sundar

Harshit

Akash

Prasidh

Bumrah

In case Rohit is fit swap Jurel with Sarfaraz.

I think Jurel is good enough to open.  Probably has tightest technique in Indian cricket right now.

Siraj is part of the clique ,he does everything to maintain his stay

Although I'm not sure about Prasidh either, but TM asks for replacements which are easily replaceable when seniors want to

I want Bumrah, Prasidh, Harshit and Deep as pacers.

Rohit if he’s not available for the first match, should be told to enjoy family time with an extended vacation.

Having said that, I reckon they will go with Bumrah Deep and Prasidh/Harshit.

if somehow they choose 4 pacers, Siraj will be in.

One of Prasidh and Harshit is 100% playing

Harshit is probably going to be preferred over Prasidh as he’s already part of the team. He would have done well in the A game too had he got a chance. So will be unfair to choose Prasidh over him.

If they only choose 3 pacers, Siraj won’t be a part of the playing 11.

Has he ever opened at any stage in his career ? To throw him in Australia would be big gamble but so is Rohit crossing into double figures these days

Sarfraz

Pant

Jurel

Bumrah

Deep

Rana

Prasidh

Both KL and Easwaran will score single digit runs, so take a risk and open with Sundar. Saves us one spinner spot.

I think Sarfraz will actually like batting in Australia, he seems to be a good back foot player..

With almost all batsmen out of form expect Pant, we Need to pack our batting with Jurel playing as specialist batsman.

Gambhir has already confirmed that, if RGS does not play, then it is going to be KLR or Easwaran.

So, why play them in India A matches if there a predetermined conclusion that you are going to pick one of them - even if they fail?
