Indian T20 team is unstoppable

Since the previous World T20, we have lost 5 T20Is to Zimbabwe, South Africa, England and Australia and came close to losing to Lanka in Dubai in a 6th match 

 

5 out of these 6 matches were when we  didn't play 6 batsmen(including Dube) + 2 allrounders(Ha Pa +Axar mostly) and instead played 5 + 3 +3 or 6+1 +4 i.e when we compromised our batting depth for an extra allrounder(Washi)or for an extra bowler(Harshit/Bishnoi)

 

One of the matches we lost was when we played an extra seamer instead of a spinner - against SA in the recent series. 

 

 

Where we have actually been clinical and unbeaten is when we have played 

 

6 batters(including Dube as 3rd seamer) + 2 allrounders(Ha Pa + Axar) + 2 spinners(Kuldeep + Chakri) + lone pacer(either Bumrah or Arshdeep especially in Asian conditions )

 

 

Considering that WC is in India/SL, this is the combination we should stick to - 6+2+2+1

It is essentially Kuldeep v Arshdeep. Can chose between them based on conditions 

 

If Pandya can bowl at the death Kuldeep should play most games

Pandya in death is a massive risk. On his off days he can be extremely costly. You need two bowlers. One over can change the complexion of the game completely.  We still have to see which opposition we play against.

that is what jitesh is, some1 who would not die wondering. he will throw around his bat not freeze, bowlers may have better of him but he will swing his bat, that the upside they are looking in him, intent to try hit every ball hence playing at no.7/8  

 

Do not think jitesh is intnl quality but the tm looks at him as #6/7/8 who will swing his bat as hard as he can and may be connect 2-3 in last 10 balls giving team 10 ball 18-20

Its a surprise that after botching 2 impt. icc games and multiple IPL teams he still finds a spot in Ind side.Its kind of unheard in Ind cricketing system.

 

Though he had all it takes and backing of bcci to make at-least Ind great he botched that too.

I was thinking why we were so good in T20s and i realized our bowling is actually better than our batting,we rarely lose and when we lose our bowlers have an off day and our batters cant makeup  on that day.

Particularly against fire batting sides,most of the T20 sides have now assembled high SR batsmen in their lineup,so it's a risk everytime

Our bowlers have been doing the heavy lifting for years now. And whenever they needed support from batters - 2019 WC SF or 2023 WC Final, the batters disappointed.

We so back baby.

 

Before Gill, 200+ was the norm for us. Then he displaced Samson and even 170 became a challenge. 

 

Samson returned as opener and we scored 230. 

 

Gonna be unstoppable in the WC.

Gill out has given us last minute boost..just need SKY to atleast contribute something..even quick 30 shud be fine..if others are in form..

 

If he has reflexes issues again pace..he may try to give strike to other batter..and take on spin bolwing heavily..he does play sweep well..Indian subcon..Teams will play spinners in MOs..and he can atleast contribute that way..

Bowlers had to step-up once Ind went to Gill as an opener, before that Ind was out batting opp.

It's not just Gill. With Gill in the team we had 2 of the top 4 who don't deserve to be in the team with SKY as another passenger at 4. This was putting too much pressure on Abhishek. With Gill gone we only have one passenger and we can manage one though ideally I would prefer Iyer as captain at 4.

Simply Unstoppable, Touchwood- If any deserve to lift the title, this is the team. It would be travesty if we get beaten by conditions, dew or collective failure on a bad day.

India have a win-loss record of 42-5 in 47 completed T20I since January 2024.

Samson and Kishan to open followed by Tilak. Then see what happens.

I think that is what will happen. Ishan and Abhi to open, Tilak at #3, then SKY. 

 

Samson will get a couple of more chances but time is running out for him.
