SachDan Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Virat Kohli’s contribution in the last five years when the team total was 400 or less. wanted_desi Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Kohli - the bowler would be proud of those numbers.

Ultimate_Game Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) Kohli is only good for 300/2 situations when you don't really need a batsman. Just like most of his career, he's the real king of soft and impactless runs. Couldn't do much in knockout matches when it mattered, and hasn't helped team win an away Test throughout his career. You could've replaced Kohli with any domestic batsman over the last decade and the team results would've remained the same. The Realist Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 5 years is not a run its reality. Old man Kohli should have retired at least 2 years ago. Ultimate_Game 1
maniac Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Has 2 last hurrahs I feel. One in tests and one probably in Champions Trophy.

Won't make a difference here and will drag us down in CT as usual. Unfortunately most of our selectors are like you - stuck in the past waiting for some "hurrahs" instead of thinking ahead and making changes Meanwhile we've frittered someone like Bumrah's career. Pity we didn't have someone like Travis Head else Bumrah and Shami would've had ICC tourney wins just like his Aussie counterparts. Difference was they had Head who showed up, and we had Kohli and Rohit. mani sha 1

He's the true undisputed kink of useless bi-laterals who shat his pants in ICC tourneys. He's anti-Travis Head in the sense he never shows up in must win matches or make a difference when it matters unlike Head. You could replace Kohli with any domestic journeyman over the last decade and Indian team's results wouldn't change for the worse. In all likelihood the replacement might actually play a substantial innings in a must win or ICC knockout.
Laaloo Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Is it true he took a flight to London today and will be back one day before the next test? SachDan, Ultimate_Game and rollingstoned 1 2

It's not as if he would've made a difference had he stayed in Aus. When it matters he's gonna get out for a sub-20 score.
mani sha Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 The sad part is everybody knows , nobody talks on air and life goes on . sharma too has now entered kohli category now . Shame that in a team of bumrah , pant , yash with exciting al rounders like reddy and sundar , we didn’t win the test championship once. I am still hopeful that the last 3 tests might be won if we get Shami back or reddy plays a blinder . But the scamful nature of selection is evident . I had clearly mentioned in my post that the 100 scored by kohli was based upon jaiswal and rahul exceptional partnership . The tired bowlers were there for the taking and reddy massacred them and kohli milked his way to ensuring we see his ugly head again for many more loosing causes . Ultimate_Game and New guy 2
Sean Bradley Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 (edited) I feel pity for Indian cricket who has been fielding 10 players for past 5 years or so and 9 players since Sharma took over test captaincy. Sharma & Kohli are zombies who are there but not there. It's a miracle that we won so many matches, literally with 2 passengers in the team. Edited December 9, 2024 by Sean Bradley Ultimate_Game 1

This sort of issues have been there for a long long time...recently pujara and rahane..earlier Sachin Ganguly Dravid etc...dhoni in odis...it's not something new for Rohit or Kohli...star performers get a longer rope..it's not unique to these two...among them I would like to see Rohit jettisoned first..he is unfit and has no defence or technique...Kohli is fitter and he just needs to stop fishing outside off..chuck his ego and in tests he can defend against left arm spin New guy 1

No, I think time has run out @maniac @Lord @Cricketics Time for Rohit and Kohli to retire or be retired by selectors in Test Cricket. Only ODI cricket they should play and Rohit should retire from ODI with CT. Edited December 9, 2024 by fineleg maniac and Vicks57 1 1
