Looks like a “tactical” injury for Brohit

Plot twist, it's actually strategic.

Now Australia will think that Rohit won't be available. Then 30 minutes before the match, he will be a surprise on the playing XI. Australians will tremble in their boots for the 3 to 5 runs Rohit would score.

They took my advice! :woot:

Tactical injury to both Rohit and Kohli, or at least one of those will go a long way in solving our problems.

Aussies shaking

They would be worried if Rohit doesn't play. They'll have to work harder for a change. And if Kohli gets "injured" too the match would be even stevens!

Whoever writes this article, do they really think 10 years in age matters nothing? I don't  know what to think - what are these like Taylor Swift fans......

"Will King Kohli recreate magic of 2014 at MCG?"

They're still showing Kohli's Aus knocks from 2014 series on TV

As per their logic, we may as well bring back Tendulkar and start showing clips of his SCG knock or Laxman and Dravid based on their exploits from mid 2000s. These ads,  marketing campaigns etc. are devised by folks who have no understanding of cricket and sports, and are only there to create hype knowing that majority of Indian public are gullible.

That's the reason likes of Rohit and Kohli are still touted as starters for WC 2027 when they shouldn't even be playing now coz majority of Indian fans have no understanding of the game and simply go by names. You can play Kohli in 2031 WC as well and majority would be absolutely fine with it.

Its not just in Sports in India. It is the culture, and i am afraid it is not going to change in future.

@Stan AF @Lord @velu Your thoughts? lol

Chahal always bowls well against Australia. The bigger grounds in australia will suit his spin well.

Indians (time old story) don't know how to manage their resources.

Bumrah, Siraj, Harshit, Prasidh & Akashdeep are the options..

Choose your devil.

i will drop akash as he was way too slow in the test he played. he maintained a good line n length but he became a TRUNDLER which aussie batsman SAW AND LEFT ..GOOD LINE AND LENGTH ARE A MUST BUT WHEN THEY COME at 130 to 133K speed , it is  kind of useless.

Big hundreds loading for Konstas and Smith

Konstas is a complete hack so wont be surprised if he scores big,we dont do well against players who take on our bowlers.

Great.....so all the stories of kit flowing to Australia was just a rumour and nothing more.

This also means Bumrah will now play all 5 games, and then BCCI will burn him again by playing in a meaningless tournament like CT & then IPL.

You thought Shami on one knee will replace Bumrah in australia? Jassi was always going to play all 5 tests, this is the biggest series in his career.

CT is like 4 ODIs in 2 weeks, no big deal for him

Yup and that's why we'll never dominate cricket coz we'll have politics and seniority as hurdles. Today it's Kohli and Rohit, tomorrow it'll be Gill and someone else. Somehow we love star culture be it Bollywood, cricket or politicians. Could never understand that aspect and was always in minority. I do have my preferences as players but I would drop them in a heart beat if it results in a win for India.

But somehow that passion for Team India is lacking in general and people are more passionate about their players doing well instead of seeing Team India performing well. Majority of folks (and this forum is a minority) would rather see their favorite player score a 100 and India losing than their player fail in favor of an India win. Could never comprehend this line of thought but that's how majority rolls in India and you can see this aspect in our selections. And this is what separates us from Australia - that ruthlessness to prioritize team over individuals. They don't have this star culture and nobody is untouchable unlike in India where spots are confirmed for years in advance without any link to performances. Extremely sad and the reason we'll never be the top team or dominate cricket or any sports the way Aussies have done in cricket.

Latest update - Australia has assembled and summoned their best orthopedic surgeons to provide 24/7 treatment and observation. The team of doctors would receive special Christmas bonus for speedy recovery. Australia also, as a courtesy, offered a team of dieticians but Rohit refused their services since he has brought his own vadapav chef from Amchi Mumbai.

Why give so much hope on shami travelling to australia , only to

We needed Shami early on at WACA, for the pink ball Test and Gabba. He would be a good addition for MCG as well but the tough part is done. If batsmen show up, we can still win the series. A win at MCG and a draw at SCG is not beyond us but they key is runs on the board.
