If we go by eye test, then Kotian doesn't impress me. We should have Sindhu for spin-bowling AR in the future. If we want bowling AR, Suthar is a good pick.

Parag would be an interesting selection. He too has moderate FC/Ranji record, but it's a lot better in last couple of seasons.

You really think that's the benchmark. Some players are made for internationals. Our FC is crap

We need a good opener to partner Jaiswal.

KL in short run if he can maintain 40-ish avg, and Sudharsan as the backup perhaps. Sudharshan doesn't have high FC avg, but again looks a good player, as we saw on fairly tough SA pitches

Riyan Parag should be selected for the Test team.He is explosive batsman ,spinner and a good fielder.

He has attitude to succeed  in test cricket.

Mayank,Umran should be given opportunity resting Bumrah and devlop them.

Manav Suthar,Kotian, should be given opportunities as Ashwin has retired.

Parag should be the future #4. His game is very tight, just finds a way to get out at the moment. I thought he looked very sound in Duleep trophy, just didn't convert

We didn't have too many A team tours after Covid, fortunately they have resumed with some regularity. Need some of these prospects to really stake their claim

I don't think it's the benchmark, but I also don't ignore it entirely. I already wrote that I would opt for Sindhu over Kotian, even though latter has better FC stats. Didn't you read the post?

India can afford to throw the people  deep end given the hectic schedule . This is especially true for fast bowling.  Tried and tested failures should not come back. Unadkat is a case in point. Chahal is another one.

If there was trust and honesty in the system, lot of the issues wouldn't exist.

Players can go out of favour and be not seen again for a while. So everyone is risk averse

I don't have this gut feeling about Hangu, but I have it about Bawa. I think he can be a NKR-type player. Dynamic batter and a slightly better/quicker bowler.

Sindhu strikes me as best replacement for Jaddu. Someone who can score 100s and take 5fers; not just one or the other. More of a balanced AR.

Bawa needs a good IPL season to get eyeballs

Reddy's amplified by SRH,he wasn't bad by any means in domestics but IPL does act as catalyst

Hanga is not worth the hype at the moment

I think Bawa should be selected with or without IPL. Let's see what he's got. If he's a dud, he can be discarded.

Hawa me baat bolne se kuch nhi hota

Those FC batters would have whitewashed NZ at home

Which country does have cent percent track record in producing international quality cricketers?

Only few graduate to next level, yes about time again we need to readdress the conditions of pitches used in domestics

Only Musheer and Gurnoor interest me in this list.

Simarjeet is almost 27 and hardly playing any domestic cricket.  Despite having potential, time is not on his side as a pace bowler.

Suthar has regressed. Not turning the ball enough or getting much zip.

If Sarfraz can't be trusted overseas then what is the use.

Indrajit and Sai Kishore don't seem international quality.

Sindhu is good too in the list by @Lord. Can score 100s and take 5fers. Balanced AR. good temperament.
