The key question is has a mass produced pl15 missile bought down a 200 million rafale.

 

Using same analogy. A 5 million brahmos has inflicted more damage than a 200 million jet.

 

Maybe once dust settles this needs to be made public

But circumstantial evidence lends credence to the view espoused by Tom Cooper. Any IAF losses on May 7th are probably due to its ROE, IAF was probably told not to engage PAF until fired upon. Once Pak military targets became kosher, you could see PAF was almost irrelevant, IAF hit PAF bases with impunity in an active war unlike on May 7th when there was no conflict between the forces. Where was PAF? if they were in the air, it was irrelevant as they could neither thwart IAF attacks nor successfully deliver any meaningful response on Indian territory. If IAF was given permission to engage PAF with even a limited SEAD operation as we did after May 7th, it would have been an even worse defeat for it.

 

But India being India needed to show it was following an escalatory ladder & was not being irresponsible, but there is a price to pay for it.

 

I guess the IAF need to get to the bottom of this and learn from this.

 

I think the Rafael is a very capable jet and our pilots are very capable pilots. It'd be wrong to blame the jets or the pilots.

 

Was it strategy? Tactics? Platform issues?

 

Our Rafael needs to get integrated with indigenous and Russian Air Defense systems. Their Chinese jet is probably well integrated into Chinese Air Defense systems, so they got the advantage there.

 

Than, there is the domestic angle. There are enough snakes for whom party comes before country. They'd only be to happy to pounce on this to milk votes.

In case of IAF, yes single person is as if not more important than 200 million. Especially for us. Almost 15 years of training goes into these men / women with very few having actual combat experience. And those accustomed on rafael are even more valuable. You can get 10 more planes. But planes don't win battles. People in them do. 

 

Infantry and air force can't be compared. The investment per head, expertise and expectations are completely different.

Imp to note in a warfare, if one side with decent capabilities has to defend and other side has to attack, the defender is well placed to shoot down the planes. When the both fronts get equally involved, then the true prowess can be guaged.

Police in Bengal allowed Murshidabad riots to happen, but look at these cowards harassing a college girl for her nationalism. Even Pawk fauj pigs are better than Mamata/TMC scum.

Not always true.. Gen HS Panag who has even served in (Eastern Ladakh & taken tanks up to Karakoram pass) his daughter is AAP party member.. in her youth took part in US backed  anti establishment protests etc in early 2010's..

Since ceasefire I haven't heard a single Pakistani minister or army chap utter nukes. Incidentally during the same period our PM and ministers have been challenging them and their nukes on daily basis. Who gives a crap about debunking some misinformation on a pilot.
