Hearing unconfirmed reports that Shubman Gill is being lined up. Seriously? A guy who doesn't really even deserve a place in the XI based on his recent performances is being lined up for captaincy! This is like KL Rahul 2.0. Can't deserve place in team but became captain for no reason. 

 

Selectors don't need to take any drastic steps IMO as Bumrah has already led India in the past and should be selected as the natural leader.

 

If he is injured, it is a tough choice to pick someone. Pant has a guaranteed place but captaincy credentials are doubtful.

 

Possibly a left field pick like Shreyas Iyer? He did well in domestics and seems to have the right selfless attitude needed for captaining an India team and has worked on his technique to play short pitched bowling. 

 

Any other choices?

Bumrah with Kohli taking over when he's absent.

 

Don't want Kohli in the team but if hes there better make use of what he has

this is a good combination. 

why should Boom be the captain ?

 

  • he is a fighter and a natural leader (specific traits showing his fighting skills).
  • see his performance as a Captain.
  • when he was the captain - see his bowling performance , he took some 32 wickets and had he not got hurt , we could have finished 2-2 with australia.
  • Since he is a fast bowler , i will expect him to ask BCCI to create helpful greenish wickets and I expect him to support guys who have genuine fast bowling capability. i expect BOOM at help to pick best fast bowlers.
  • he will be selfish with regards to batting , he will keep players who seem to assure him to score runs.

Gill is leading GT well and i feel he can be trusted as Vice Captain., 

i wanna Boom to play 2 tests and then take break in the third and then play the last 2. this could ensure he is not unfit.

i expect him to get Mayank and harshit in the forefront.

At least do something consistently for 3-4 years and then expect captaincy, Jaiswal has shown that he is as selfish as they come.

I don't think he wants captaincy just yet, why do you say that?

 

He might just be moving back to Mumbai due to some other agreement
