Tired of Arshdeep being projected as some sort of saviour sitting at bench

So many people touting Arsdeep as some sort of best talent in world who would have saved this team. He could have got chances, but he isn't big miss as people think him to be.

Answer was Raj Bawa. He should have flown in directly post that Reddy injury.

BCCI instead will organize some fast bowling camp where he will take a part.

They know he is next in line but still won't take a chance.

INdia needed 4 seamers. They should have picked him. I didn't want him either earlier as he is untested. But here he could have been handful on two fronts. One he can swing bringing different angle. Two he can create a lot of rough for Sundar. India missed the trick by going for "draw-oriented" team

He has never played so how did he get injured? If he has been carrying an injury on tour then that's even worse and why was he selected in the first place?

T Natrajan an dout and out T20 bowler when he was picked for Gabba test. After saini got injured he bowled 40 overs in that test. I think 30 overs should be managed by any bowler even with out experience.  Irfan pathan as a rookie bowled 50 overs in a day. He didn't have first class experience either

Savior or not, he can add a different dimension with left arm over. That would be a good addition to this one dimensional attack

Nitish Reddy's injury really hampered us as we needed another pacer. Would've taken Arshdeep as well over Karun Nair or Prasidh. At least Arshdeep doesn't give freebies every single time with the new ball the way Prasidh does. We had no control with the ball and Prasidh goes at 6po in Tests and picks up wkts in the end when the damage is already done. I would rather have a bowler who picks up wkts early.

Neither he is tall nor he has much pace. He is as tall or shorter than Reddy with similar pace.

Arshdeep hasn't played test cricket so there is no sample size to suggest how would he have done. If you look at his county performance last year, he was poor.

Bowlers bowl in the nets too and can get injured there.

Exactly. But looking at reaction of people it sounds like he was certain to succeed and no brainer selection for this team.

Bawa bowls 130-136k under domestic speed guns.

He was faster than any of the pacers in Chandigarh.

Nitish oscillates in 125-131k range.

He's a trundler.  Not sure what people expect of him in Tests cricket. 

 

Also, he doesn't get much seam movement , more of a swing bowler. And as a left armer , he's already at a disadvantage in Test cricket.
