@raki05nope India played Pakistan 7 months after 26/11 in June 2009 CT. You are confusing playing with hosting. BCCI always had their priorities clear.

We played Pakistan at the peak of Kargil war in 1999 WC. That's besides the point.

Back then you did not have Pakistani celebs openly chest thumping on Pahalgam or similar attacks. The vocal public sentiment in India is not the same anymore. We did not cancel Indus Water Treaty or trade and cultural relations then. We did not ban Pakistani media , channels back then. To do all this and then to shamelessly go ahead and play them is a pathetic abject cowardly surrender by the current government and BCCI. They have lost all moral rights to talk about sanctioning Pakistan by other countries. Their nationalistic talk is all bravado and hot air. Money is supreme for them.

Kaise din aa gaye ab. AIMIM supporters chanting Pakistan Murdabad, and burning Pak flag.

AIMIM have been a pleasant surprise.

When Owaisi is shouting "Pakistan Murdabad", HTF are the likes of Jay Shah and co agreeing to play Farkystan?

Jay Shah has such a punch able face. If there ever was a stereotype of someone undeserving who made it through life purely based on nepotism and political connections, Jay Shah would have to be it.

Jay Shah was hobnobbing with Afretard when Afretard has a known history of playing footsies with terrorist groups.

We can only criticize those in power, folks who actually make these decisions. Most of us here voted for BJP, we have every right to hold them accountable. Trust me, I don't have any love for opposition leaders and you know my posting history.  I trusted Modi/Shah to at least have a strong policy against Pak, and hence this betrayal feels personal.

Phuck the opposition. This is way beyond politics. Who the F in same mind will want to play after knowing and watching what happened in Pahalgam.

I feel for the players. Caught in a very difficult situation. Any sportsmanship like handshakes, pre or post match with Pakistani players will be picked up by social media to target them questioning their patriotism. Kohli and Rohit will be thanking their stars, else they would have got all the abuse for this match

Besides our money hungry ruling party politicians, biggest hypocrite in all this is Gambhir. Man has lost all credibility after accepting gov decision lying down, just two months back he was showing a lot of bravado asking for complete boycott. But when it came to loyalty to Gov and BCCI vs national pride, he went with the government. He even chickened out from addressing the press. Thoroughly disappointed

This match has nothing to do with govt. This isn't played in India or Pakistan where govt couldn't allow it. Govt can only not allow it. Allowing is up to BCCI. The tournament is hosted by BCCI, not by Pakistan. So boycotting a tournament which is hosted by BCCI themselves seems nonsense.

Or if people want India to boycott every multinational tournament involving pakistan then the team will have to stop playing cricket altogether because pakistan is involved even in test championship and every tournament.

Boycotting something means hurting the opposition, not your own. Indian govt and BCCI only cares about not having bilateral ties with Pakistan. Multinational tournaments can't be boycotted and you are asking them to boycott a match hosted by them itself. It would still have made some sense if it was not hosted by BCCI. Yes, people can boycott. It's their choice. they can boycott every India pak game in future too, not just this one which will hurt TRPs and they will stop giving high importance to India pak games. I boycotted this game, didn't watch it. Neither followed it.

Regarding Gambhir, he has already quit politics and not a member of the ruling party anymore. His priority is to earn money for the social services he does.

This game is purely on GOI. So many leaders from BJP have said that. Go lick their boots

Even if it is, there is nothing wrong. You can't stop playing cricket just because Pakistan is playing. Purpose is to hurt Pakistan, not your own which they did by beating them one sided.

I boycotted the game. You could have boycotted it too.

It is wrong. You have not hurt Pakistan here. They have made money of you and will use that kill your own. Once it happens with your near dear ones, you will realise.

Also it exposes the hypocrisy of BJP. Promoting India Pak games, having business dealings with Pak etc etc

Bcci could hv & should hv avoided this tournament at all cost.  Maybe the neutral venue of UAE played a key role in this decision by Bcci.  Ind has had deep diplomatic relation with UAE for too long (UAE is among the largest export destinations for Indian goods).  Maybe GeoPolitics did play a role here.    Highly disappointing though.
