Shreyas Iyer for Sanju Samson would be our best batting line up in T20s

Will Shreyas Iyer replace Sanju Samson after the Asia Cup ? It is an absolute shame that he is being kept out.

Great point - SKY has just degraded as a player even in his most suitable format —-with an extremely limited game. 

 

I would make Shreyas as captain replacing SKY ( I love him, but he is not performing ) 

 

Perhaps then keep Samson as the keeper batter and have Ishan Kishan as the 1st back up.

That's what I want as well, Samson as keeper but perhaps as number 3....he has a poor record below that position. Like you, I think SKY's time is up.

I like Iyer and would love for him to be white ball captain 

 

But it is Hard to see how he fits in T20is for now  , especially without comprising a bowling option 

 

I think Jitesh should be tried for Samson who is out of position at 5. Bat Jitesh at 7 or 8.

SKY will surely continue as player and captain till the T20 WC.

Iyer will possibly come in his place after that. 

 

And then they should get Jaiswal in place of Gill, and make Iyer captain in both white ball formats.

I mean team is fine.. yes the keeper slot is debatable.

Jitesh also deserves few games... But don't think they will dump Sanju unless India lose a game or two.

 

Age wise it is 31 yo Jitesh vs 30 yo Sanju.

Close call overall.

Have not heard or seen S.Iyer keep wkts, but sure if he is ready/willing to keep wkts.

I would like to have Priyansh Arya as he can keep as well. And Iyer in place of sky. Ask Priyansh and Abhishek to open with gill at first down and iyer at 2nd down thank tilak, pandya and rest i could have tried Parag in place of axar as he can bowl 1 or 2 overs as well.

Samson is not going anywhere. They have placed their trust in him. Also told him he will be backed even if he scored 25 ducks in a row.  He is scratchy on these sluggish wickets. Especially pitch holds up a lot more after 10 overs. Stroke making a bit harder.

Samson’s overall  knock yesterday + that one cover drive hit- pretty much sums up his career so far.

Samson was doing so well with Abhishek as an opener, had 3 hundreds over the past year and now suddenly he was moved to middle order where he had struggled in the past, now after 3 games people are calling for his head? That pretty much sums up his career, he was just coming into his own and the team management are hell bent in not giving him the best chance to succeed.

And also out of form SKY keeps playing at 3 makes no sense as well. If it were TIlak varma i understand. Why is this guy batting up the order.
