If there's a scoreline of 7-7 or 8-7, then it's called a rivalry. But if the scoreline is 10-1 or 10-0, it's not a rivalry anymore I didn't like this. I feel like this arrogance and complacency fed into our fielding performance We were lucky to win yesterday, conceded 20 runs too many Many of us are kids of the 90s even 80s and know how ordinary we were then and how much better Pakistan were. These things go in cycles. Edited September 22, 2025 by Sooda cricketrulez, cricspirit and Norman 3
putrevus Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 I saw the video, I don't think he was arrongant at all.He was very calm and also sounded very humble. GoldenSun, bouncers and hitman1980 3
Laaloo Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 He wasn't arrogant but that fielding performance yesterday was atrocious. Need4Speed 1
ShoonyaSifar Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 Arrogance? In last 10 years the record reads 14 W/ 3 L. With most of these being one sided wins, including yesterday. Last 20 years have been 35 W/ 15 L for us. For comparison 2000s were 23 W/ 25 L (closest to a rivalry) 1990s were 18 W/ 28 L 1980s were 10 W/ 23 L Essentially for the current generation, they have only seen India overtly dominate Pakistanis . Fair to say that reflected in SKY's comments. An additional factor is in these 15-20 years, Pakistan has hardly had any world class superstars unlike from the 80s and 90s. Hence the general awe ( listen to Gavaskar, Shastri, Sidhu, Ajay Jadeja speak about them) has also faded. Plus he was responding to the off and on field antics of Pakistani jokers since last week. It was an apt response, even if a bit OTT. I don't like that our team and players are having to clean up the mess they have been left in by a bunch of spineless idiots in GOI and money hungry morons in BCCI. rollingstoned, Master_better, Norman and 4 others 1 6
tapandrun Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 think bcci now has made mind where the are not going to have ind and pak in same group in any event. they do similar thing when they let the players post about any ex-cricketers when they keep on targeting 1 individual player
Master_better Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 What arrogance ? SKY is absolutely right. These bhikaris are meant to be kept under the boot. Good on SKY to rub their wounds. hitman1980, rollingstoned, bouncers and 3 others 6
hitman1980 Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 You just have no idea how these Pakistani bas##rds would have reacted had they won ... Compared to tht wht surya said is very civil .. This mentality of us Indian to be always in apologetic mindset needs to go. bouncers, singhvivek141, Master_better and 1 other 4
MK55 Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 If anything he should have humiliated that classless team even more. Thats what they deserve and that’s what their level is. Especially with the antics clowns like Rauf were doing?? Not just during the match but even in practice. They were (falsely) barking “6-0” (by conceding goals during some training match) when the press came in. Master_better, Need4Speed, bouncers and 1 other 1 3
Need4Speed Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 it was not arrogance...past is past..per recent times..there is no rivalry.. rivalry is between sides of similar standars..dont raise Pak's level by giving same podium..
Number Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 Agree. Be as hawkish on field as you can but humble off it.

These things go in cycles. Disagree entirely. India’s economy and governance sucked at that time and Pak was flush with easy aid money. India is a monster now, there is IPL, and their per capita income is almost half of Indias. Our amenities now are wayyyyy superior - almost at par or better than Aus, Eng - because of IPL wealthy owners - splurging liberally. Our talent pool is much bigger. The gulf in the size of economies will only widen - Pak economy is 1/11th of India, by 2047 in another 22 years, when we complete 100 years, Pak economy will be 1/20th or 5 % of Indias. They have no chance in hell now, except a fluke win - here and there. It’s India and only India now. Pak will be treated as a pathetic minnow till eternity now - that’s not arrogance - that’s objective analysis. The only thing that can change this - is Pak all of a sudden has a flurry of freak talents like Wasim Akram, Inzamam etc… well they have had guys like Babar Azam and other Bowlers - but they will destroy their careers due to their own stupidity, like they are doing to Babar now.

vvvslaxman Posted September 22, 2025 Posted September 22, 2025 SKY should not talk like this against any opposition even the ones that you have never lost to. It is nothing to do with pakistan. cricketrulez and Zero_Unit 1 1

Pakistan needs to find a different 'rival' in 'cricket'. Can't be bringing political rivalry into cricket when you can't even compete properly in the match due to lack of skills/players not good enough. Sooda 1

Respect for opposition and bit of humility is a good trait In fact he only said this because it was Pakistan and he is lost in jingoistic fervour cricketrulez 1

This is all is boils down to. Quality of players. How did New Zealand economy compare to India when they beat us in various tournaments and formats over the years? Yes infrastructure and money helps but All it takes is a clutch of world class talents being part of the same team. In 15 years the roles could well be reversed.
