Given the current form Jadeja and hot and cold performance of Kully  we are going to face a tough series. We lost reverse swing bowlers like Shami, Umesh recently. Ashwin is gone.

On good batting surfaces, tough to beat us. This young team can pile on lots of runs and force draws if required. 

 

Anyway I think boys will rise to the occasion and herald a new era of home domination. RSA has won too much in last year and a half, they were in a similar high when they toured here in 2015 and we know what happened after that.

The team saffers A team beat had rahul, Kuldeep,pant ,Siraj, Akashdeep, prasidh and jurel so one thing is for sure ur pacers barring bumrah will be tonked on flat pitches and bumrah recently has been blowing hot and cold kuldeep is rusty and this win will deffo boast saffers confidence

If you go back to WI series 2nd test  India struggled big time trying to bowl WI out. in their second innings when they decided to show patience. Indian bowling is not the same we were like 3  or 4 years back.

Bowler struggling on flat slow pitches is normal. It happened 3-4 years back too. We couldn't bowl out NZ on a slow green park pitch. It was a draw.

Bad light cost us many overs, else we would have won that. They barely hung on at the end, 9 wickets fell.

Because that was not that good a batting pitch, but a slow pitch. Pitch in india A match started green and green pitches usually get better to bat on in India as the game progresses when moisture dries out. They become batting beauty.

These pitches with extra grass behave like this sometimes. It can flatten out as game goes on. None of the 2 pitches were very subcontinental and pitch didn't deteriorate because of weather probably.

In that second test, We won with two and half sessions still left. bowled 118 overs. It's absolutely fine for other teams to also fight back. Only problem was with complete lack of bounce on that Kotla pitch which became worse as the test progressed.

 

I hope the team management does not go to the useless dustbowls which became a norm after Covid. Worst quality of cricket gets played on such tracks as it's a total lottery with guys like O'Keefe, Root, Ajay Patel and Santer being made to look much better than they are. 

 

In Bumrah, Siraj, Kuldeep, Jadeja and Washi there is enough skill set to win 9/10 tests played on decent surfaces with some bounce for spinners.

Yash Thakur is one which I believe does it

Simar should play more fC this season,always wanted him the side ,he has bounce ,will do well in SENA too

Don't limit yourself to Siraj and Prasidh only,Gurnoor is shaping up well

Timely induction,will help them ready before tough home and away games

Not just India, you see the same thing happening in NZ and even Eng more lately (post Bazball). GG's 11 hours blockathon to draw the Napier test can only happen in NZ, also we almost chased down 400 in 2014 1st test but choked at the end. 

 

RSA and Aus are a bit different. In RSA you get these big indentations as match progresses, making it tough to face pacers. In Aus, often cracks develop because of the excess heat, in fact one of the reasons we won Gabba was because of overcast conditions throughout the test, cracks didn't widen up even on day 5.

pitch doesn't deteriorate sometimes, ten doeschate said they enforced follow on against WI thinking this will happen but it didn't and they had to toil for every wicket.
