BacktoCricaddict Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 He's been struggling for a good while (since the last T20 WC) now and if he doesn't perform now, it should be curtains for him. There's enough top-order talent in India to replace him. Additionally, not sure if Gill in the PP is a good idea. I'd rather have 2 lefties - Sharma and Jaiswal, or if they really wanted a L-R combo, rope in someone like Prabhsimran Singh who can also keep. Abhishek, Prabhsimran (wk), Jaiswal, Varma (vc), Rinku (for now)*, Pandya (c), Axar, Rana/Bawa, Varun C, Arshdeep, Bumrah *Need to keep a close watch on Rinku, as well. Have some power-hitters like Shashank Singh (I know he's old) or maybe Ramandeep ready to go, Ultimate_Game 1

cowboysfan Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 i think these bouncier pitches suit Sky better but Aussies know this and will bowl slower balls to him.
vvvslaxman Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 He has a lot of commercial deals. He is not going anywhere for a while. tapandrun 1
Gollum Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 With Iyer also mostly out, SKY's place is locked IMO. Just hope he regains some form and confidence. Gill is a much bigger weak link if you ask me, he is also ruining the batting order because of his permanent spot (VC) and opening role. bowl_out, Lord, Vk1 and 1 other 1 3

At least 2-3 players are batting out of position because of his mandatory inclusion. Also, the team would benefit a lot more from Rinku at 5/6 than an additional batsman at the top. Abhishek, Samson, Tilak, SKY, Dube, Rinku, Pandya This will be my top 7. Bowlers will be Axar, Kuldeep, Varun, Bumrah in sub continent conditions. And Arshdeep in place a wrist spinner in SENA. Chaos Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 His biggest flaw is too many ramp shots attempted. He full 360 player n should play one.

Trichromatic Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 SKY was never a factor in WT20. Ultimate_Game and Manucrick 1 1

Vk1 Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 pioneer of sorts of our T20 batting... not having plan B is hurting him

I would actually count his catch against SA as clutch. He was still valuable at that time, but T20 cycles/form are fast-moving and his lack of batting contributions in the past year is alarming. Prabhdeep Singh Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 His catch was hugely important, just based on that and 4 months out from T20 WC he deserves captaincy and place in squad. After that we all know writing is on the wall. He will lose his captaincy for sure to probably Gill. Gill is also under pressure in T20 format. Cricket works this way, people work you out then you need a counter plan, I am sure SKY will come with a better plan.
vvvslaxman Posted October 28, 2025 Posted October 28, 2025 His use of Bumrah on those sluggish UAE wicket was puzzling. Used 3 on the trot leaving no death overs for him.if he does here we will be mauled.
