deepdynamo Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Chasing 269 vs hyderabad, j&k were 78-6 , auqib nabi came to bat at number 8 & scored 100 in just 64 balls
putrevus Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) This is the problem with Iyer, he is too loose and does not take any responsibility to finish games. Some geniuses want him to become whiteball captain. He is going to be a disaster in SA. On his best day he will always be supporting player. I am glad this guy is not in t20 team. How can a team loose 50 over match by one run with 24 overs to spare. Edited January 8 by putrevus

Was hoping for at least Medium Fast. He's sharp, seen him clock 144+ on domestic speed guns BacktoCricaddict, express bowling and Mosher 3
Suhaan Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Some crymen or complaining aunty's here wait for one failure and they start bitching about a player

Iyer could be one of the most gutsy player in Ind crkt system right now. Issue is he has obvious weakness vs short-ball. In last 1-1.5 yr he has worked-out how to negotiate that in Odi in sc conditions.. It will be hard to negotiate in T20 asd test or Odis where pitches offers extra bounce by default. Negotiating can work and has worked for batters in Odis but its hard to do it in test :::: Gangully score Odi runs with short-ball issue, Raina was able to do it , but in tests where bowlers can bowl it whole day then it becomes a problem. In t20 where batter has to aim 2 boundaries per over it becomes an issue. That time its hard to negotiate. Its similar there could be a gr8 test batter with limitations but strong defence but that batter will be found out in Odis and t20s example pujara.

No he plays only one way, he has shown again and again he does not finish games. Number 4 should have ability to play waiting game also.Playing boring and ego less cricket is needed sometimes. He is not able to finish is mostly because he is the only1 trying to provide some impetus to side, rest all top 5/6 batters in Ind side are more or less are accumulator with Rohit being exception. He comes at #4 he will always be 2nd fiddle or sometime he will look like a maverick that's #4 are. If some 1 from top 3 got a ton in a match then #4 at best will get 80 runs or some times those 80 runs will come in quick time.

I don't think so, he is useless on his own. look at today's match, 24 overs still there and they are all out.

vvvslaxman Posted January 9 Posted January 9 I noticed that in many matches. Ground standards are pathetic. You cannot use these scores to make team selection. This is why they need to bring back the challenger Trophy where you see top 40 players at the same time. tapandrun 1

These are centres which have proper intnl cricket stadiums. There has to be some reason why these matches are being played in those grounds. how could these matches be broadcasted when there will be no facility to broadcast. Think they do not want crowds to come-in to those intnl stadiums for now as the wc/ipl is approaching . the entries to these academies can be controlled. Edited January 9 by tapandrun
