BCCI instructed KKR to release Mustafizur Rahman

Not sure I support this. What is the fault of Mustafizur in all of this? Why should an individual be held responsible for what is happening in his country? If anything, blame should go to KKR management who picked him in the first place. Now once they did, ditching him in last minute shows only poorly on us. I am afraid too much politics has entered in cricket now and why it is no longer an enjoyable sport for me.

Having said the above, SRK has a nack of picking Pak and BD players in his team. In first edition of IPL, most Pak players and even mediocre BD players like Mashrafe & Tamim were in KKR. Then in 2014, he picked 38 year old Azhar Mehmood as soon as he got his British passport. :hatsoff:

If treatment of minorities is the issue, why are Afghan players still allowed? Since Taliban took over, all the remaining Sikhs/Hindus there have been driven away. Have never seen Rashid Khan or Nabi speak against Taliban or in favor of their non-Muslim citizens?

Anyway, these bans/blacklists should have happened before the auction. How would their approach have been say for instance Litton had been picked by LSG?

India is not behaving like a mature democracy, or even a serious country for that matter. Pakistan's case is different because they send in jihadis to kill our citizens, BD's atrocities are mostly targetted towards its own people.

I am not saying, don't ban them. But at least give proper reasoning instead of pointing out a few lynching examples.

Jaishankar can go and shake hands with Khaleda Zia's son, and Pak minister. Modi can write love letters about how BNP worked to strengthen Ind-BD ties lmao.

But different rules for cricketers and celebs?

This government is a joke, and bully....can only go after soft targets (mostly fellow citizens), and never the real enemy. I have no love for SRK, but don't think this issue would have blown up had some other franchise picked him up....after all, multiple teams bid for him that day, so he clearly was in the plans of others as well.

Don't think Fizz has ever exhibited any political leanings or hatred towards India or its team/players. For all we know, he might be one of the silent supporters of sane voices in BD. By singling him out, we have come across as petty people.

This is stupid, unless this guy commited any crime  there is no reason for them to exclude them.

These fricking politicians who are crying over the crimes commited on minorities in Bangladesh but what are they doing in India against hindu on hindu crimes committed  in India ..

How many crimes are being commmitted in India on hindu women, how many hindus are raping hindu women in India.

They don't get votes, but threatening KKR and BCCI will get front page or headlines.

Who made these idiots custodians of Hindu religion.

@Lord @Lone Wolf these kind of stunts won't affect our Olympics hosting chances as per Mahamanav ji.

Let us see what happens in the upcoming T20 WC.

What happens to the contracts which players and teams sign? Government interference doens't make a contract null and void. I know he probably won't, but out of curiosity, can Rahman sue KKR?

He should sue but he won't ,BCCI/IPL should honor his contract atleast some percentage. Didn't BCCI bring in rule for punishing players not showing up .

There is something called CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) based in Lausanne. Vinesh Phogat appealed there following her Paris disqualification, Harish Salve represented her there.

Dunno what the options are for Fizz here. Starc was once involved in a legal dispute in IPL but that was him vs an insurance company.

Same can be said about Pak cricketers. Individually they have not done any terrorism in India but all Pak players are still banned from IPL.

Harry Brook also pulled out at the last minute after IPL franchise  bought him. Just like India didnt had any option to arm twist Brook to come and play, Fizz has no option here either. It is unfortunate for him individually, agreed but not much he can do. KKR will still pay him behind the scenes will be my guess.

Pak is a hostile enemy state, have been in multiple wars against India. Then there is the matter of state sponsored terrorism. Every rupee they earn from Indian market, fraction of it goes to their terror training camps a few km from LoC.

BD hasn't reached that stage yet. They may in the future, but not there yet.

I agree to some extent about just players but PCB  who is their employer is the main reason why Pakistani players are not playing in India.

PCB tried to use NOC as a weapon to blackmail IPL and BCCI.

This decision got nothing to do with the government. It's just a result of social media outrage. We have become an  outrage country.
