The Indian govt doesn't know / doesn't spend enough on lobbying. Even Pak does this much better than us despite being broke. India has only itself to blame. My logical response would be: China was poor war ravaged country when we were independent. USA was a superpower with the ability to influence our post independence politics. Which they did. Being a neighbour and a civilizational rival - China's intent is way more malicious towards India. It has always shielded Pak citizens who are terrorists responsible for multiple attacks on India from UN sanctions committee. They are not even Chinese citizens. We are not a highly disciplined high agency population that works hard and that helps each other. The current growth is due to 10 percent outliers. Once they age and wither away, we will go back to 3 percent growth. If you accept the limited potential of our population, you will easily accept the polluted air, broken roads and ugly cities.
