They might manage to impose a small token fee as some compensation though for the severe economic damage they suffered. The US doesn’t even use the strait that much. The oil premium will rise but not much. Only that its not so simplistic. A large chunk of China, S Korea, Thailand and Japan's crude passes through the straits of Hormuz. The 2 million $ per ship extra is going to hit these nations. These are the nations that manufacture most of USA's consumer goods. There will be an increase in the cost of manufacturing and finally those costs will be passed on to the American people. From calling for unconditional surrender to signing a ceasefire that lets Iran impose a levy on the straits on Hormuz. 'Mighty' USA have (yet again) lost a conflict. Iran ended up with an income source it didn't have before the conflict began. Sgattick10 1

This toll arrangement is outright colonialism. No ship would pay it. Even if they pay now , what if they decide not to pay after 1 year. Will Iran block them, sink them? just before war, Iran captured 1 UAE/India ship (ghost) in persian Gulf and then Indian navy captured 3 iranian ships( ghost) in Arabian Sea. This 2 million is just Chooran US is selling to get off ramp. Iranian aren’t that foolish. Because Iran will end up fighting all. Edited April 9 by mishra

That number is just for one night. Israelis simply decided to buy time to regroup replan and deal with it. Hence I say, admire him for leadership and value he places on Israeli lives If I remember correctly, it was not unprovoked it was after Israeli air strikes on some Iranian facility in either Syria or Qatar. Here is what Gemini AI: April 2024 Attacks: Iran launched over 300 drones and missiles in an attack branded "Operation True Promise." Iran described this as retaliation for an Israeli airstrike on its embassy in Damascus, Syria, which killed senior commanders. 2026 Escalation: Intense missile exchanges occurred in March and April 2026, following intense military action. Tehran explicitly framed these attacks as retaliatory, calling Israeli actions "unprovoked" and "illegitimate" while targeting areas in Tel Aviv and central Israel.

Many of the current issues like closure of Hormuz wouldn't have happened had Israel not asked USA to attack Iran. It changed things completely and All USA gulf allies got attacked by Iran in retaliation. Had the fight remain just between Israel and Iran, world would not have faced the current problems while USA also miscalculated Iran's position. They never thought Iran would attack GCC. This is not the first time Trump had attack attacked Iran. Last year he had used B2 bombers and had apparently decimated all nuclear facilities in Iran in the 12 day war. Iran did not close the straight of hormuz then. I think the killing of top leadership in Iran triggered this retaliation from Iran this time.

If Iranian commanders are in caves with terrorists in another country, they shouldn’t complain when bomb falls on their head. Did Iran attempted to attack US when Qasim Suleimani was killed by Trump while on his terrorist recruiting trip in Iraq. Its rogue terrorist regime and can’t complain. I can’t understand why Iran is supprted by Indian media. We want them to not loose their war against US , but at the same time we don’t want terrorist regimes to be in power by holding world as hostage Edited April 9 by mishra

There are hardly any Shia terror groups that operate against India. At least India stayed neutral, the US spent significant diplomatic effort to neuter India's Op Sindhoor from its press concentrating on Indian losses, its POTUS codling with Pakistani rouge terrorist Asim Munir, providing info warfare ammunition by bringing up veiled hints at Indian losses during the op. This admin clearly signalled Pakistani terrorists operating against India is India's problem & propping them is also in their interest as a check against a growing India. They have also been very harsh on India on trade front. So its very natural Indian media wants this campaign to go badly for Trump & he loses in midterms. My positioning is based on UAE and Israel is our top two allies in Mid East. Iran has historical relationships with us. So best option i will position my point where our allies have least harm while Historical Relationships Iran couurse corrects while US position gets weakened while that empty space is not conceeded to China but shared between Mid East powers Edited April 9 by mishra

The western puppet regime of Shah was not good for india especially during 1971 war as it was pro USA. After 1979 the Mulla regime has been somewhat good for india as india wanted close ties with Iran because it is Pakistan’s Neighbour, just like india wants to be closer to Afghanistan as well. Iran is a terrorist state is part of IRGC policy, but india has diplomatic and economic ties with Iran the civilian government. Until 2015 when the US impose sanctions on Iran, india was buying oil and gas from Iran. Even today, India’s exporting rice, and medicines to Iran, which it can’t cut ties off. rangeelaraja Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Wow !!!! This is big news and won’t be surprised if it’s true. This may explain Iran’s almost bottomless arsenal. If this proven - the entire West Asia - especially Saudi and UAE - will bury Pak that survives on their bheek and remittances from there. Edited April 10 by rangeelaraja

If Iran's oil is taken off from sanction list, then that alone was big thing. This 2 mil. per ship doesn't do any good.
