Suhaan Posted February 10 Posted February 10 For India, the burning question remains, does our spin department have the teeth to dismantle the opposition on a surface that traditionally rewards guile? Recent struggles in the ODI series against New Zealand, where spinners were swept off their lengths, have raised some red flags. In the shortest format, there’s no room for such lapses What do you think of it? Need not to say pacers too will have their role on that sticky surface by consistently going with change of pace, cutters, slower bouncers etc,we often tend to bowl filth upfront in recent times in pressure games express bowling 1

Norman Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Who the fukk cares... 15th Feb is effectively a dead rubber game... I will worry more about our bowling in dew in the latter stages of the tournament against England, SAF, Aus etc

You are dealing with a nation which after losing 3 games was celebrating Naqvi stealing trophy and an opener hitting Bumrah for 6. Can't lose to these jokers.
lemsip Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Dimissing teams is not the focus in this format. As long as bowlers know how to build pressure and the fielders catch well, the wickets will take care of themselves. The batting has to stand up particularly when faced with the pakistani spinners who can be slightly unusual. Dube and the left handers have to take them to the cleaners, The match is inconsequential and the format is a lottery but India would have to play badly to lose.
Mjcricket Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Ind will have to play Kuldeep. Pak spinners look way superior to India. Ind batting will have to click.

No. Varun, Kuldeep, Axar are any better than any combination of three. What Pak has is FIVE goodish spinners. Difference will be batting vs spin which is where India is superior. 2012/2014/2016
Gollum Posted February 10 Posted February 10 One Kuldeep is enough, guy keeps their batsmen in his back pocket. In fact this match may help him get some form/confidence back. Two Indian players (after their abbu, Kohli) who the Pooks have no answer to. rollingstoned 1

Pandya/Kohli have had a few bad matches and lsot a few games. Kuldeep is at ZERO bad performances and ZERO losses.
zaqw222222 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 More than bowling I am worried about our batting against spin. Hope our batters prepare well for this

It took us a few games to get used to Chuckmal and Chuckfeez also. rollingstoned 1

Chaos Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Even worrying about losing against these lodus is criminal
Nikhil_cric Posted February 11 Posted February 11 @Gollum Replying here because match thread has been archived . I don't think that Tariq guy is chucking. He bowls with a bent arm but there isn't a whole lot of jerking and straightening. He maintains that bend throughout. I think the pause is the issue. Gollum 1
nitinbwj Posted February 11 Posted February 11 (edited) The bigger question is Does Ind have the skills to play the vatta bowling of Tariq ? Edited February 11 by nitinbwj Sgattick10 1
Tillu Posted February 11 Posted February 11 One of Abhishek or Kishan needs to survive the power play as they are very good against spin. nitinbwj 1

Have they bowled on Pattas ? Shadab,Nawaz,Abrar are not vastly superior and that vatta guy is just a weird bowler. Ind needs to be careful about him. Thats it. We don't need 190 against them. 170 is enough
Tillu Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Their batting outside Farhan is weak. Need to win the toss, get him out and restrict them to a low score. Number 1
