After a disappointing previous generation of kohli Rohit Rahane pujara rahul now we are daily watching players of extraordinary talent exploding everyday

Jaiswal

Sooryavanshi

Gill

Tilak

Kishan

Sundar

Abhishek

Ashok

Mayank

We r starting to produce extraordinary young talent across formats with some good years left for bumrah and pandya an pant(test) our mvps

Hopefully some new spinners also emergency soon

I think jigsaw Puzzle is adding up we just need to select we'll move past oldies and have a ruthless winning culture imbibed in dressing room

Can we become the all conquering like the australian team ?

Better tbh. Don't think like Aussies it will end.

More apt comparison would be USA in basketball.

Like I have said before - A cricket crazy country of 1.4 billion (and growing) should dominate the sport like crazy. Only bottleneck has been poverty. And now as that is going away, India is realizing its potential. Of course, there are decades of growth left so team will keep on getting better and better.

And I disagree previous generation was bad. They prolly had the GOAT Indian red ball team from 2015-2021 (still stuttering along till 2024) with the best home record ever plus away series wins in Aus (twice), a draw in Eng and SA.

But India has become better now.

Last 6 u19 WCs India has lost 3 matches and those were the 16, 20, 24 finals. Each batch is producing 2-3 good players. Now those batches are linking up and achieving maturity.

By the early 2030s you will have the likes of a prime Pant, Jaiswal, Gill, Sundar etc playing together along with the likes of Suryavanshi.

We are on a 0-5 run at home in tests against SENA. No matter how you spin it, that is a shocking record, lowest of lows in Indian cricket history. 2000s Aus would lose 5 tests at home in a span of maybe 10 years, not 5 consecutive ones !!!!!

ODI team looks vulnerable, imagine carrying Jadeja in 2026, almost a decade after 2017 CT !!!!! If we don't win 2027 WC we will be on a 20 years long drought by the time 2031 edition comes, worse than our 28 years drought post 1983 because of the resources/personnel/riches we have at our disposal now compared to 80s, 90s.

Let us not get too ahead of ourselves.

16 consecutive test wins (twice!!!!)

Number 1 ranked in tests for 15 odd years (uninterrupted reign)

Test series win in every country (often multiple), inflicted whitewashes everywhere except in Ind, Eng

Peak ICC test rating 143 (India's highest is 130 in 2017 IIRC)

Peak ODI rating 140 (India's highest being 127)

3 consecutive WC wins, 34 consecutive ODI WC wins (India's highest is 11 from 2011-15..,sandwiched between losses against RSA and then Aus in 15 SF)

Tough to top that.

Not disappointing

Our GOAT test team, in terms of W/L, 18 consecutive home series wins, 5 consecutive test maces, most months at #1, our peak test rating, competitive overseas with a dozen test wins in SENA, awesome pace battery.

And most importantly, Indian cricket's greatest triumph, 2020-21 BGT. No matter what we achieve in the future, nothing is ever going to top that. In fact following our test team was so much fun in that 2015-22 period.

My indication was towards batsman thats why we under achieve so much in test and world cups

Jadeja and Ashwin were a force at home and bumrah everywhere

Batting generation was pathetic after sachin Rahul VVS sehwag

More impressive of we had done it in ODIs and Tests like they did, tbh

Meh ... T20 is today's format and we are today's dominant force.

Plus we don't cheat or abuse opponents in the name of "win-at-all-costs" aggression.

You were right until you said "across formats"

We are a **** test team and not enough talent coming through

Red ball bhi ho jayega, @Gollum bhai.

Tests require more maturity.

These guys are good - just need to enter their late 20s-early 30s prime

This is the last decade of competition. No one is matching up vs India in any format from the mid 2030s.

Er.... Mayank is still a question mark.

1) At least he has to be playing

2) How effective is he remains to be seen.

3) How long can he play effectively without .... well you get the point.

This is just T20 of course of 4 overs a match. It takes that long to warm up in tests and even ODIs.

given the seeming endless supply of youngsters that can smack 80 off 30 i want to blood them in tests asap. most will crack but we just need 3-4 that wont.
