2018

Ben Stokes got involved in a street fight outside a club

Two other men were involved in the fight

Stokes said he was trying to protect a gay couple from abuse

A man got injured during the fight (facial injuries)

He missed the 2017–18 Ashes tour because of the case

The court declared him not guilty

ECB still banned him for 8 matches

2026

Ben Stokes and Atkinson went to a nightclub in London after the Test match win vs NZ

There was a brawl outside the nightclub

 A security guard got stitches

A rugby academy player was also involved

Stokes and Atkinson were also seen there

Now ECB is investigating this and Ben Stokes could be suspended and removed from captaincy

This same thing has happened twice, it's pretty much over for stokes

Very long read with very sordid details. Engerlunds bewdaism got no chill lmao.

he had drunk a beer at the game and three pints at his hotel, then ‘potentially had some Jägerbombs’ along with half a dozen vodkas at the club. He insisted that after all of this he was not drunk.:hysterical:

Why are English people - athletes or not - involved in so many pub incidents!

Athletes aren't processed to handle that much alcohol in their body. Not talking about merv Hughes and his legendary beer exploits but in general.

Someone said that since they work out extensively, they get drunk quickly too.

Stokes clearly can't handle his liquor. Some people mellow down and have fun while drunk while others become extra aggressive when inebriated. Stokes clearly falls under the latter category and should stick to drinking in his hotel room or at home.

Stokes retirement may be a blessing for England.... Will reinforce the batting or they can trial someone for Ashes

SoS to Ser Jaime Overton to reverse his test retirement perhaps :hmmmm2: much much better bowler and on current form better batsman than Stokes

This is an English people thing not an athlete thing. You don't hear other Europeans also have the bad name in tourist spots that English chapris have coz of how they get after drinking in placss like Spain, Greece and Cyprus.

For that, one has to first acknowledge that there is a problem. From some of the accounts posted here, he thinks he is okay - not drunk or whatever.

It's also possible that he is not an alcoholic in the sense that he consumes a lot of alcohol everyday. But when he goes out to celebrate with "the boys," he goes overboard and loses his mind.
