Bumrah's workload management logic just doesn't add up. He goes missing again.

Typical. Boom never gets appreciated but always attacked when he misses something.

We are like Pakistan at an extreme opposite end, batters can do no wrong and its all about blaming bowlers.

You cant chase a meagre total, bowlers didnt stop the opposition..batters cant score enough runs, bowlers need to defend it.

No escape from the vicious loop

Bumrah goes missing whenever there's an important match for India, yet somehow manages to play an entire IPL season. The workload management logic just doesn't add up.

And over the last three years, it often feels like he's been stat-padding in low-pressure games rather than delivering when it matters most.

TIL world cup knockouts and important overseas test series are low pressure but random bilateral jamodis are high pressure.

Are you sure you dont have some Pakistani blood in you? Which ancestor migrated from Lahore?

Lot of soft corners for Bumrah. How about guys like Rohit and Kohli in odis , are they appericiated?

I saw same geniuses literally abusing Rohit before Lord's match.

So fans shouldn't have soft corner for our greatest bowler in history who is competing with the likes of Mcgrath and Wasim for top spot?

Thats like saying why do indians have more of a soft corner for sachin over ganguly or sehwag.  They are in completely different leagues.

But i forgot, waqar > bumrah, right?

BOOM has a complicated action which creates serious pressure on his body. so it is like if he bowls 10 140+ overs in a match, his body requires time torecover, specially his back. just try to simulate his action and see you can realise , it is not a bhuvi type simple NO injury action...some guys have seamless no injury action and normally these guys are trundlers as they dont put serious pressure on their body.

so BOOM should be playing 50 percent of Tests and ODI that India play.

just see how he bowled in IPL..he was in 130's and hardly took a 6 to 7 step run up. he was not ready to put pressure on his back. doctors have also told him too much about his back.

he has improved his batting skills too but he has some fitness challenge which comes back every now and then. there is some pain which has not got resolved 100 percent

He should skip IPL for a season to manage workload

Bcci or a patriotic private donor should buy him out to rest

Coz he is a GOAT, the one bowler who has single handedly enhanced Indian bowling reputation and won matches from impossible situations in knockout games. But the same wont be said if Bumrah continues to linger till 38-39 years of age, even likes of Sachin & Kapil Dev faced criticism in the last 2-3 years of their career.

Batters cant excuse themselves due to their poor performance, score 230 & struggling to score 250 when conditions were tough (thank stars for Axar & Washy). 3rd game was on a flat pancake where we were never in a winnable situation. Stat will look good for the batters but watching the match in real time shows what was actually going on.

Ro Ko are growing old and ageing, every game for them is going to be tougher and tougher with the new rules. Its not their fault but the selectors who cant take a tough call like Auzzie selectors did with Ricky Ponting, as no one wants to stop playing the game which has made them what they are now.

Its a travesty that likes of Jaiswal cant even find a place in the ODI. On top of it likes of Iyer, Kishan, Rahul hasnt shown any sign to take responsibility. Atleast Washy & Axar won the first game with the bat.

Yeah, Bumrah is GOAT T20 bowler.

Why should they stop playing when they are still the best.

When useless fellows like Iyer and others are doing nothing but are playing in the team.

I think you have comprehension issues.

One can get injured in the game while having 3 years straight rest well. Fitness isn't linear maths formula like you are rested for x period, you will play for x period fully fit. We can expect but that's how a fast bowlers' life is.

AArcher himself complained about bowling at 90mph all the time

Consistently bowling 140+ is insane. Humans really aren't built for that kind of stress

If there is quality fast bowlers , Bumrah can manage his work load.

The problem was selectors didn't access the age of Shami, workload of Bumrah and didn't have any back up plan.

They wasted too much time, matches on Avesh,Unadkat, Mukesh, Harshal, and eventually they found out they were not upto the mark.

The injury to Prasidh,Sen also didn't help matters.

Tyagi, Mayank, Ashok, Gurnoor should be backed and given a long run before discarding them.

Ideally Srilanka A tour, Afghanistan test, Ireland, England Zimbabwe series was ideal for introducing young pacers.

I don’t even listen to people who argue against Bumrah.

He can have everything he wants, wrap him in cotton wool cos he is probably our greatest ever cricketer.

We might not see anyone similar for years once he retires, responsibility of Indian Cricket hangs on the shoulders of Bumrah.

Thats why I want selectors to sit and watch each and every domestic games and not just IPL and finals.

Many teams, who have good bowlers dont wven qualify to finals and at the end we see trundle fest or spin fest.

All those Avesh, Mukesh, Harshal, Unadkut etc came in just because of their low and slow bowlinh which gripped on the sticky pitches of IPL and batters ended up mistime the same to the fielders. These guys didnt had pace and hence relied on slower and slowerer bowls to escape the wrath. But neither had any quality even 1% of Bumrah.

I remember certain commentators (Akash Jhopda types) who used to compare the stats of Sandeep Sharma with Bumrah and decide how Sandeep Sharma is as good as Bumrah. Shows their ignorance and poor understanding of the game.

Bumrahs peak speeds have reduced lately (last 1-2 years I’d say). I’m sure of that. He rarely bowls those 90-92 mph balls these days.  Last time I saw him bowl quick was I think just before the T20 World Cup for 1-2 matches.

As he grows older, he will have to be more selective to avoid chronic injuries - which he’s doing. Problem is that despite that, he will still have his share of unfortunate random injuries which is fine and that’s just how it is.

So we gotta focus on the next crop of high ceiling bowlers and give them exposure - Gunroor, Ashok, Mayank, Tyagi etc.

Bumrah was very quick in 2 of the 3 tests in England 2025. Went upto 147 kph.  Was quite quick in 2 of the 4 home tests after that. In his last ODI he was regularly hitting 144 k to 146 k in England.

I get the impression that he is using pace selectively and primarily in the longer formats, when the conditions demand extra pace.

I am very happy that in the last 1 month, Gurnoor and Ashok have debuted for India and Mayank has been brought back.

This is great going.

I really appreciate Selectors, Gambhir,Gill who  backed Gurnoor, inspite of not playing in IPL or other domestic tournament.

Selectors should have shown such foresight and backed Ashok, Mayank, Karthik for A tour of Srilanka, Ireland England Zimbabwe series and also Afghanistan test series.

Gurnoor should play both tests against Sri Lanka.

He had a 10 wicket haul for A team against Sri Lanka A team
