Never let the pace dip which is a testament to his fitness. Made valuable contributions with wickets at crucial moments in the game. Unsung hero IMO. Can't wait to see Shami and Umesh bowling together in the next test we play. Umesh, Shami, Aaron(if he improves like Umesh) in Australia and SA will be great to watch. express bowling and King Tendulkar 2
CG Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Yadav story is heartwarming he wanted to become a policeman to support his family but failed and started cricket pretty late. There fore took more time to develop captains calling him brainless did not help.It was pathetic of Dhoni to make fun of Yadav's background. speedheat, asterix, Rightarmfast and 4 others 7
Lannister Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 A sad day for Dhoni the duffer and his sheep followers. They were trying so hard to disregard yadav lol Ironhide, Sidhoni, speedheat and 3 others 4 2
surajmal Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 What a turn around from beginning of the season. I so didn't expect this.

Calm down bro, dhoni is the cheapest mind donkey a selfish person who is also a baap of nepotism loves making players his chamchas, hell he didn't even leave that big fat coach , as per as umesh is concern he is on the right path now with kohli and kumble to guide King Tendulkar, sandeep, Sidhoni and 2 others 3 2
Riju23 Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 I'll admit to being frustrated by Yadav in the past, but not one is happier than me with him right now! He has really been consistent this series and in the recent past. Excited for the combination of him and Shami. sandeep 1

Line and length is as important. Both things are not mutually exclusive and he is doing well because he is combining both together. Sidhoni, Laaloo and speedheat 3

CG Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 what did he Dhoni do? Made fun of Yadav by calling him brainless at press conference after scoring a 50 forgetting Yadav was best indian pacer at WC. Ironhide 1

Had the nerve to criticize Umesh after repeated spraygun performances where he dished up short and wide deliveries every few balls that got spanked for a basketful of boundaries in ODI cricket. So because he criticized an inconsistent Umesh in 2012-13, these geniuses feel that Umesh's improved performances five years later justifies all kinds of name-calling and poisonous puking against a legend of Indian cricket. How dare he criticize the great phaast hope when he stank it up repeatedly? He should have cupped his balls and massaged them until Yadav became the bowler that he is today. sscomp32, Ultimate_Game, Ironhide and 1 other 3 1

Well he cupped and massages ishant and he never did become the bowler we dreamed off lol well it could be ishant cupped and massaged but to be honest no one really knows which way round it was
King Tendulkar Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Dhoni had agenda v yadav . I remember when he gave him like 10 spells in 15 overs or something in consecutive odis lol Ironhide 1

Agree as a captain you can blast all you want your players in dressing room but in public you need to support them. Dhoni did not show support to many players. Mosher 1
express bowling Posted March 27, 2017 Posted March 27, 2017 Umesh is also setting a new standard of fitness for our future fast bowlers. He is naturally athletic but has also worked really hard to stay fit and improve his stamina. It was heart-warming to see him bowl as quick as ever in the 14th test match he has played in the last 9 months. Always running in hard and hitting the deck harder, whether it is the first hour of the day or the last. Now that he is picking wickets and has improved his accuracy.... his fitness can be a benchmark for young Indian quicks to follow. CG, King Tendulkar, Lannister and 5 others 8

Ultimate_Game Posted March 27, 2017 Author Posted March 27, 2017 I sincerely hope the Indian team management don't tinker with what's working. Keep Umesh for Tests and keep him away from shorter formats. We have enough bowlers for shorter formats in Bumrah, Nehra, Bhuvi, Shami (if fit) and let Umesh focus on Tests. Hope they do something about our pathetic slip catching as well coz without catching everything in slips, we can kiss any chance of winning away from subcontinent goodbye. sandeep and sscomp32 2
